It's such a great show! I only wish people didn't write off animation as insignificant kids' fare, because anyone would benefit from watching this show. I mean, of all the shows he's done, Mark listed Avatar as the show he fell in love with the fastest! I can watch episodes over and over again, and no matter how often I watch them, they still make me laugh, cheer, or cry (about four episodes off the top of my head make me get teary). It's just that good.

Me too, any Zuko episode can get me going. Except for the one where he, his sister and her two friends went to the beach. That made me wish they had their own spin-off series. 'Zuko's Summer at the Beach'

"Yes! We have defeated you for all time! You will never rise from the ashes of your shame and humiliation! Well, that was fun . . ."
And the complete FAIL that is Azula's flirting:
"That's a sharp outfit, Chan. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an Empire-class Fire Nation battle ship, leaving thousands to drown at sea. Because . . . it's so sharp."
"Ummm . . . Thaaanks."

Just when I wrote this boy off as too young, immature and Just Not That Into Me, he contacts me today and is as oddly endearing as ever.
Damn him.

Hey, grammar question. Does the second part of a phrase with a colon have a specific name? Like in something like this: "Book One: Flight". The subordinate?

If you didn't eat the entire box/package/sleeve, you're okay.
Using my iphone with my toe thumbs. There will be typos.

moodydove: mrs.poppers is the expert, I'd say. I don't want to give you misinformation.
--------------
I lost it with the other rescuer. She keeps sending me every g-damned detail that every Joe Blow tells her, while I'm up here, dancing between an angry kennel owner and my new-agey friend who believes that microchips cause cancer.
I sent an all caps message about mico-managing.
I'm so ashamed.
I will be assembling and dismantling a giant dog crate all weekend, until I have my time down to five minutes in case it gets cramped in the car with the dog and my friend. And I'm buying an extra ratchet, just in case.
(Shaking myself by the collar: "What have you become, woman?!")

Twenty minutes until I do a henna glaze.
Why do I always feel the need to do stuff to my hair when I'm stressed?

Is that a dog collar or a shirt collar?
Good luck with your hair, I'm really interested to hear how it comes out!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

This (from Nancy Silverton) is PERFECT:
Preach! It makes my soul weep just a little bit whenever Caprese gets suggested during winter. WHY???? I cringe just a little bit whenever I see certain posts here with the dreaded winter Caprese.
The right dressing! So for the love of god, stop smothering everything in balsamic dressing!
Then this:
Which led to this comment:
Sigh. And yep, we all salt pasta water. We salt it like the mother****ing ocean!

^^ Wow, seriously? I'd never heard of salting a salad before dressing, but I thought salting pasta water was just...how you make pasta. My mom eats a low sodium diet and she still salts her pasta water - though not "like the mother****ing ocean," lol!

Mystic, Zuko's arc is one of the most well-developed, well-executed, and fulfilling of any show, not just animated ones. He's a great character.
