I am home from L&D minus my cerclage that was supposed to come out at my 36 week appointment. We decided it was best to go ahead and remove it since I had dialated from 1 to 2 since I was there last night, my cervix had softened a little more, and baby's head is very low. I was having contractions, but I couldn't feel them. I am home unless I need to go back and hopefully my body will cooperate at keeping this little guy in for at least a few more weeks.

Yawn, troll time again I see. The same citrus-turned-spice variety.

(Ha, I was posting about the post in Nallia's thread, not the one above this.)

Yep, that's two that I don't even know where to start because everything is usually so, so wrong and baffling. Sigh.

I cooked for everybody at the office one night. The owner had bought Filet Mignon and lobster tails, and I cooked some pan fried potatoes with bacon, and rosemary, then grilled asparagus with lemon and crushed red pepper....I butter poached the lobster tails and grilled the filet's to perfection then made a bearnaise for the filet.....

When it was time to eat, I watched one of the guys go to the fridge, grab a bottle of ketchup and asked if we had any tartar sauce. I was confused as to what to use ketchup on, or tatar sauce for that matter. He poured ketchup on the filet followed by several others, and opined how great it would have been to have tartar sauce for the lobster tails. Two people used the bearnaise and looked with horror along with myself over what was going on. Everybody liked the potato side although a few put yet more ketchup on those as well. The asparagus was eaten as is by all except two whom had never had it before, yet refused to try it.
The horror! My soul weeps. I can't even.

It's also a struggle to get them to not overcook the fish. When it's about halfway through what would be their normal cooking time for a piece of fish and you tell them it's plenty done and try to fight the urgency in your voice to take it off the heat now, they look at you like you're completely nuts. I'll never forget the first time we brought a really nice piece of fish [$$$$] over there and they overcooked it — I was so sad. My sister and her husband do it too, when they grill fish, and they profess to love a good piece of fish. I don't get it!

I think we need to stop bringing fish to these people. Or if we do, insist on cooking it ourselves.

Wild~hair, my mother always thinks when I tell her a piece of fish is done that it's basically done enough for a restaurant, not her. I've tried explaining that white fish is cooked all the way through in restaurants, so the fish is done. All the way. But no, she responds that well, then she wants it MORE well done.

I'm on the edge of my seat wanting to know if wild~sasparilla got any writing done, got any sleep, or is in a hospital right now. I suspect that much like me in high school, the sense of urgency due to procrastination eventually manifested itself in the form of a finished piece of writing.

So I finally take my entrance test and didn't do great. I'm so frustrated and depressed with myself. I freakin' hate taking these tests because there is no way to prepare. Ugh...

And bad news...my friend had to call off her wedding. But good news is I don't have to buy a dress. I feel terrible for her though.

It's awkward, feeling sorry for someone while at the same time being relieved, isn't it?^

I always struggle like this re: parties.
It was under strange circumstances. Apparently the groom was pulled over for a minor traffic offense and then arrested for a reinstated warrant from a long ago issue that went unresolved. I mostly feel terrible because she is out a whole lotta money.

Do you think they'll still get married?
I guess she is still going ahead with getting married. Its strange because they called it off for other reasons many months ago over another situation. Its her decision to make. I'm not one to judge.

But I think it was a case of really bad timing. Really bad considering the wedding was supposed to be tomorrow. All this just happened today.

I just played the word aegis in WWF. It wasn't worth many points, but I still feel I should brag about it.

I know it from playing too many RPGs. It's used frequently as a type of shield (in mythology, it was Athena's shield w/ Medussa's gorgon head on it!).

I hate that I now associate fish with worms. Ugh, I've got to get over this.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
I'm still a bit grossed out by your wormy fish, spring. I've been eating fresh caught fish my whole life (much of it caught by me or by someone with me in cold water, warm water, crick, lake, great lake, ocean) and have never seen a worm in any fish. blech.

I DO have some polish that will match Nadine! : )

Fiery I'm sending more good end of pregnancy vibes your way. Stay in there a little longer little guy!

I got a new laptop last week and SO set it up. He named it "Momputer" and set the pic as a cute panda. I smile every time I open it.
