I am home from L&D minus my cerclage that was supposed to come out at my 36 week appointment. We decided it was best to go ahead and remove it since I had dialated from 1 to 2 since I was there last night, my cervix had softened a little more, and baby's head is very low. I was having contractions, but I couldn't feel them. I am home unless I need to go back and hopefully my body will cooperate at keeping this little guy in for at least a few more weeks.

Every. Time. We have fish at SO's parents' house they have to put tartar sauce on it. One time we went to the fish market and got some really nice salmon and as we were sitting down at the table, his mom says, "Oh, we forgot the tartar sauce!" and then rushes to get it. And then looks stunned when we say, "No, thanks," to it.
It's also a struggle to get them to not overcook the fish. When it's about halfway through what would be their normal cooking time for a piece of fish and you tell them it's plenty done and try to fight the urgency in your voice to take it off the heat now, they look at you like you're completely nuts. I'll never forget the first time we brought a really nice piece of fish [$$$$] over there and they overcooked it — I was so sad. My sister and her husband do it too, when they grill fish, and they profess to love a good piece of fish. I don't get it!
I think we need to stop bringing fish to these people. Or if we do, insist on cooking it ourselves.

Nallia, Phoenix posted the troll's post in this thread.
Wild~hair, my mother always thinks when I tell her a piece of fish is done that it's basically done enough for a restaurant, not her. I've tried explaining that white fish is cooked all the way through in restaurants, so the fish is done. All the way. But no, she responds that well, then she wants it MORE well done.
I'm on the edge of my seat wanting to know if wild~sasparilla got any writing done, got any sleep, or is in a hospital right now. I suspect that much like me in high school, the sense of urgency due to procrastination eventually manifested itself in the form of a finished piece of writing.

So I finally take my entrance test and didn't do great. I'm so frustrated and depressed with myself. I freakin' hate taking these tests because there is no way to prepare. Ugh...
And bad news...my friend had to call off her wedding. But good news is I don't have to buy a dress. I feel terrible for her though.

It's awkward, feeling sorry for someone while at the same time being relieved, isn't it?^
I always struggle like this re: parties.

It was under strange circumstances. Apparently the groom was pulled over for a minor traffic offense and then arrested for a reinstated warrant from a long ago issue that went unresolved. I mostly feel terrible because she is out a whole lotta money.

I guess she is still going ahead with getting married. Its strange because they called it off for other reasons many months ago over another situation. Its her decision to make. I'm not one to judge.
But I think it was a case of really bad timing. Really bad considering the wedding was supposed to be tomorrow. All this just happened today.

My apartment complex has its quirks that irk me but they gained brownie points by starting a trap-neuter-release program for stray/feral cats and kittens.

Just wanted to introduce you to my new BFF, Nadine. She's old and cranky like me and I think we will get along swimmingly. : )

I just played the word aegis in WWF. It wasn't worth many points, but I still feel I should brag about it.

I only know that word in a Naval context. I've been on the Arleigh Burke.

I know it from playing too many RPGs. It's used frequently as a type of shield (in mythology, it was Athena's shield w/ Medussa's gorgon head on it!).

I hate that I now associate fish with worms. Ugh, I've got to get over this.
Jeep!! She's purdy! You should paint your nails to match.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

I'm still a bit grossed out by your wormy fish, spring. I've been eating fresh caught fish my whole life (much of it caught by me or by someone with me in cold water, warm water, crick, lake, great lake, ocean) and have never seen a worm in any fish. blech.
I DO have some polish that will match Nadine! : )
