Do I really have the energy to make cookies this weekend? I'm still not sure seeing as I still have lots of shopping left to do.

Anyone have a good snickerdoodle recipe? I find them to be glorified sugar cookies sometimes.

Truth be told, souffle is my top choice right now, but those two are right behind it. I also had a chocolate and pistachio torte, but seeing as how I've made all cakey things with my pistachio paste, I should switch it up some.

Okay what is up with all of the "Don't say Happy Holidays to me!" posts on facebook this year? Do you really think Jesus would care which words are used to spread kindness and cheer? I don't think so. What ever happened to assuming good intentions, being thankful for kind words? Since when is it acceptable to be so judgemental and exclusionary? Makes me sad.

Last night I was watching Chopped and I kept wondering, "What would Saria do with that basket?"

I did almost all my Christmas shopping online. Not quite meeting my goal of doing ALL my shopping online. But I was almost there.

And I'm hoping everything ships in time!

Tomorrow is the schools christmas program. Korbin's been excited about it for weeks. I just realized something. . . At his school the kindergarten goes every other day and tomorrow is his day off. What a crappy thing to do.

So I was listening to an old Harry Connick, Jr. song that he wrote about his wife when he first met her.

Quote:
So I thought and thought about her
I just couldn't stop thinking about her
And I DIED when she called me up and said that she couldn't stop thinking about me
Sooooooooooooooooo...

Granted, this girl was Victoria's Secret top model...BUT...if somebody like freaking HARRY CONNICK, JR. is that nervous and awkward and needs a girl to make the first move, why wouldn't this 25-year-old boy who is self-conscious about his height and thinness and large nose and brokeness?

John Cusic, inventor of dramamine, is sadly not alive to hug. I got crazy awful unable-to-rise-from-a-horizontal-position vertigo a couple hours ago. I had to text my brother to bring me water once I realized there was no way I was walking to the kitchen. (I am also very grateful my brother is home!) I was able to take a dramamine about an hour ago, and then I was able to sit up and eat the yummy sushi my parents had brought home. The cause seems to be an ordinary clogged ear - not even infected, since that would hurt...but that's the only cause I can think of. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I've taken two Sudafed in hopes that I can just clear that up and be fine, because otherwise the problem will just come back. But for inventing the temporary fix that has allowed me to get up and do stuff, ILU, John Cusic!

Prime example of PC gone wrong/too far and one reason I'm not a liberal!

...snatching Jeepcurlygurl's recipe and off to the store to buy creme of tartar then bake several dozen sugar cookies.

If someone says, "Happy Holidays" to me, I smile back and reply in kind. I might even give them a cookie.
------------------
Jeepy, your holiday baking looks so yummy! I'm starting mine this weekend. On the agenda, good old chocolate chip (they're the ones I make best), peanut butter blossoms (the ones w/ the Hersey kiss in the middle), ginger snaps dipped in white chocolate, and Oreo cookie balls. I may also try to do some buckeyes, which are technically candy but they're yummy, so who cares? I'm giving a bunch away as teacher gifts this year (and of course I'm saving some for myself!)

I'm a liberal squared and an atheist and absolutely agree with this. Why can't people say whatever they want? Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hannukah, Happy Pagan Yule, Merry Whatever Floats Your Boat Day! Why are people so easily offended these days?

Hope you like the cookies.
