I have a grill. I have a grill!!
Grilled pineapples are so good. Pineapples remind me of tomatoes. And I love me some tomatoes.

And milk. 2% or whole.

But not necessarily together.
Pineapples remind you of tomatoes?

I either have a pineapple or a tomato on my burgers. So in that respect, yes.

For me they can be both sweet and savory simultaneously.

Ah, okay. I was just trying to think about it from either a taste standpoint or a looks one and coming up blank.

Ditto.

I can't take it. Torture.

FYI I've been enjoying lemon curd with my blackberry jam covered English muffin every morning. Noms.

I can't believe it's acceptable to use Wikipedia as a reference for academic papers.

They slapped our hands for that in undergrad in 1998.

They still slap our hands in grad school in 2012.
The federal court here made a comment that it's allowed in legal documents as a source. And I had profs who cited/recommended it. But I agree with you.
Times are a'changin', I guess.

I finally started on White Teeth, trying to work past the trauma left behind by The Hunger Games trilogy.
I loved this:

Quote:
Arshad shrugged. "I shouted through the car window and told the guy to move on and he says, 'I am gassing myself, leave me alone.' Like that."

"No one gasses himself on my property," Mo snapped as he marched downstairs. "We are not licensed."

Once in the street, Mo advanced upon Archie's car, pulled out the towels that were sealing the gap in the driver's window, and pushed it down five inches with brute, bullish force.

"Do you hear that, mister? We're not licensed for suicides around here. This place is halal. Kosher, understand? If you're going to die around here, my friend, I'm afraid you've got to be thoroughly bled first."

I was thinking this. Isn't Wikipedia considered an unreliable source for papers?
It is in my world.

People use it frequently for rooting out sources (some of the sources are actually valid, usable sources). But an article that anyone can edit? No way. I would not dare put a Wikipedia article as a reference on a paper.
This is what we tell our students; it's a good starting point but can't used as a cited source.

It's definitely a convienient way to find sources, but even then students need to be certain they're going to credible sources and not some Joe Blow's geocities conspiracy theory page from 1997.

The neighbors are fighting outside AGAIN. This is the second time tonight.

I really do not understand people like that at all. They fight all.the.time. I don't even live in the same building as them, and I can hear it. Life is hard enough, why stay with a person you're constantly having screaming arguments with?

This time there was so much screaming and crying, I poked my head out the door to make sure it wasn't physical.

Woman, he's a loser, drop him!! I know next to nothing about you guys, but I can tell that. All he does is step out with his buddies and leave you home alone with the baby. I can tell you have 2 jobs, but I never see him doing anything resembling going to work. And they just took it outside again. I think this is a record for him not jumping in his car and loudly slamming the door and blasting out.

A general rant to purveyors of misinformation:

FFS, information isn't hard to come by (yet...). Hie yerself to Google and do a little research before you talk out of your butt.

I'm astounded at the ignorance of people sometimes. I shouldn't be, but I am.

Stupid eBay question of the day is:
Why are you selling it?

Unsent answer:
What's it to you?

Why would you scent pantiliners with a weird perfume? WHY?

For days I was wondering what the hell was going on. I changed soap, bath bubbles. Erugh.

Yeah - I did my dissertation 2010/2011 - they were very clear that you could not use it as a source - and really. Its not that hard to find websites or a book with the info you need - only incredibly lazy people use Wikipedia for a paper.

We really need to get on that!

I just finished reading the Hunger Games trilogy, and trauma is a good word to describe it. I really hate when a good idea is ruined by mediocre writing. I think this is one of the rare situations were the movies could be better than the books.
