I used to have a bumper sticker that said that.

I think I have decided to get my hair cut this weekend. The postpartum shedding started way earlier this time and it's driving me crazy.

I was reading through the comments for today's Mark Watches Buffy recap and out of everything said, this is what made me pause:

Quote:
What are empanadas? Its sounds like enchiladas so that is the picture that popped into my head but that is not what was in that box.
How is this possible?! *weeps*

Insomnia is going to make me fat(er).

I have a mild bit of the no-shut-eyes lately and am currently sitting here eating granola and yogurt. Why do I get snacky late at night? *sigh*

Lard help me.

Okay, so for a couple of days, my internet's been really weird. I have access, but it's like I mostly don't. Sometimes NC.com will load, sometimes it won't, and maybe google and the search result sites will load, but mostly they won't, and pretty much nothing else will come up. Anything that decides to show up looks REALLY weird, with no pictures and some funky formatting. A lot of what I need to get stuff done is unfortunately on the internet, and things I don't "need" but really want are inaccessible as well. I've been hoping I wouldn't have to call about it, but at this rate, I'll have no access at all while the router continues to declare that there's a full-strength connection!

Also, I just tried to go to Mark Watches and it won't load. Sh*t just got real, y'all.

WS, I was having a similar issue a few weeks ago and unplugging and plugging my router back in helped.

Thank you, Spring! Tomorrow when I won't wake anyone up by messing with things in the living room, I'm going to try that.

Why are my students asking me stupid questions?

I am not one to call questions stupid but these are. I ask you to do a presentation on indentured labourers and you ask me if these are the ones who cam under indentureship?

How are you doing A Level work?

I should not be ready to fall asleep by 10:30AM. I'm meeting a friend for drinks after work tonight and I'd like to be awake when I see her.

I know what you mean. I know some people say there are no such things as stupid questions, but there really, really are.

YES!

As for "excessive political correctness," in my experience people who complain about that are really saying "you want me to be respectful? But that's so hard!" Is it really that difficult to refrain from using nonwhite cultures as shorthand for "mysteriously scary"?

I would also like to join notemily in her side-eying of your complaint of "political correctness to excess" because in my experience, as well, that's shorthand for "but I don't want to not act like a douche".

I was wrong. It looks like closer to 10 inches. Look how high the snow in the street goes over the sidewalk already!

Oh yeah, as I exclaimed how this was the best winter ever at work, I had a response of how summer is going to suck --- it's going to be 95-degrees all the time, and so on. And I was like, "so you're saying it's going to be awesome, yes?!"

I just decided to clean the inside of my car's windscreen because it was mucky as hell. It's -1C outside right now. The cleaning stuff froze. I had to use de-icer on the inside of the car to clear frozen window cleaner.

All in all, that was just a pretty dumb idea.
