so, um.... remember that job i told you about last week, where they want me to come and take over as admin assistant to the Regional Senior Justice????

it turns out that it is one pay grade above my current one. which works out to about $4,000 per year.

now when you're single and in your 50s and you have a mortgage, i know that every penny counts. but is $4,000 enough?

the job is LESS busy than the one i have now and the team is WAY smaller - 6 people. i really like my co-workers, i have a GREAT boss, and i love the variety and challenges this job brings.

the senior judges' suites all have gorgeous views of the river and the west side of the city, so i worry that i'd be tempted to look outside a lot - especially in the summer when they will be playing baseball games at Labatt Park across the river (it's a perfect view of the playing field). it's a pro and a con.

they also replace the senior judges every 5 years. the current one is a very nice woman; what if the next one turns out to be a bugaboo???

then again, my current boss is also not far from retirement - i'd say he's planning to leave in 5 years.

i just don't know what to think...

anyone able to offer any guidance?

Fcuk, I just looked at my pay and I messed up my timesheet!! I left off 8 hours because I was trying to help my boss on Friday and I guess I forgot to right it down before I faxed it to my agency. Hopefully I can get this corrected.

Some old woman walked into the chemist where my mum works today. Sat on the chair there panting.

Mum asked her if she was alright. She said 'oh fine love, just catching my breath'. Looks at her and then says 'well you know how it is, you must be older than I am'.

She was 86. My mother is 51.

Let's just say she was less than amused. I, however, was crying with laughter!

Goodness gracious... I know that nobody wants to know, but I'm going to say it anyway... This is probably THE most miserable period I've had in the longest time.

All I'm saying is... The box of chocolates my dad gave me on Tuesday are pretty much gone already!

Also, at some point, I got rid of the little bag of ibuprofen that I keep in my purse. I don't know when or why, but I'm seriously regretting it right now!
