What is it about my ring that makes people think I've gotten engaged? I had brunch with a friend whom I haven't seen in a couple of months today and she went, "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Tell you what?" I asked.
"When's the wedding?" she asked, looking at my ring.
"You know I'm not even seeing anybody right now, how could you think I was ever engaged?" I asked, totally perplexed.
"We haven't spoken in awhile. Some relationships can develop that quick. Besides, the ring is on the third finger of your left hand. It's where wedding rings usually go."
The ring in question looks nothing like any engagement or wedding ring I've ever seen. It's not a gold or silver band nor does it have a stone. It's silver and it has the words "Live, Love and Laugh" engraved on it. I got it at another friend's grab bag at her Christmas party a couple of months ago. It's on my ring finger because that's where it fits my hand best and it's on my left hand because I'm right handed. Yet my friend is the third person who's thought that the ring is an engagement or a wedding ring I like the ring too much to stop wearing it, but it's yet another indignity I have to suffer through because of my single status.

I am so sick of people who don't keep their word. This was supposed to be such a good weekend, and now it's shot to hell because I cleared all my plans for one person who couldn't be bothered to show up.
hmph.
I know sitting here and pouting and being passive-aggressive won't solve anything, but it sure feels good.

I'm afraid I'll just have angry things to say like "Don't bother making friends, you can't trust anyone"
"You'll wish on a star, but since it's thousands of light years away, it's already dead. Like your dreams."
"At least you have a good personality."

I love this one. It's so delightfully bitter!
I'm feeling a ridiculously strong push against finalizing arrangements to visit my friends, even though the date is rapidly approaching and I'm committed to going. It's not like I can blame it on anything rational like not wanting to spend the money for the tickets, nor is it like I feel any sense of foreboding about the plan. My mind is just determined to hold me back, and it's so hard to fight through it.

I must say, I find these "misfortune" cookie slogans very amusing.
Although, I'm sorry you're having a bad time, curly eyes.

Were the dogs from "The Artist" nominated for best actor(s) at the Oscars?
They were BRILLIANT!

Curly eyes, I wish I could 'like' your post from my phone. HILARITY.
Sorry about you plans, but your misfortune cookies rule.

My subconscious continues to send me strange, silly yet obvious cries for help in my dreams. The one I woke up from this morning started with some class ending and me heading to the back of the room to pack things up while I enjoyed listening to people talking about my high test scores at the front of the room where they thought I couldn't hear. Actual classmates I had back in high school were in the discussion. I then had to worry about how on earth I could carry all my backpacks out, because I apparently had carried every one I owned into that class. They were seriously all the exact backpacks I've used in my school career. I had this back-of-the-mind concern about two that had been left in different rooms, and went and grabbed one and carried it over to where all the others were. Not all of them were full, so I was trying to work out how many I could fit into each other and how to inconspicuously carry out like three huge bulging ones when some chick abruptly said, "Hey, you!" I started up from my backpacks and tried to act casual and some sort of conversation happened in which I agreed to go to a party or something, and then all of a sudden this chick is determined to change my shoes and tries to cram my feet into a pair that may have been too small. She then brings out a way-too-big pair to stick my feet in. Then my leggings were randomly off my legs and I tried to hide this as I put them back on, but random shoe-changing chick totally saw.
Subconscious, just like last time with the clothes dream, I hear what you're saying and I completely agree, but I still haven't found a way to get out of this situation.
My mom, who generally reacts to the idea of me moving away with Sad Face, has started being what I'm amazed she thinks is subtle about wanting me gone as much as my dad does. This somehow hasn't stopped the "no my babyyyy" thing, despite being its polar opposite. Who needs sense when you can have pain?
I want to play Where in the World is Carmen San Diego! Or Where in the USA is Carmen San Diego. I loved those games so much. I only got to play Oregon Trail a handful of times on the school computer, but Carmen? She rocked.

The Cheesecake Factory is overrated and nasty. They can't get a turkey burger right? Sad. First and last time for real.

Have you seen the movie, Ninja?
It's actually really good. If not, go see it! and bring a friend. It's brilliance must be shared.

But can you imagine exclaiming "Oded" mid-rapture??
Surely he must have a more suitable middle name.

I just gave a student a 1/20 for her essay. She was (a) Three days late with her essay which lost her 30%, (b) she also failed to answer the question, entirely, nothing was related to the question and (c) she lifted the entire thing off the internet. EVERY! THING!
