Say It. I Dare You.

I just got a wedding invitation from a friend I made on nc.com!
Okay, so someone shared a link for a site that has Buffy shooting scripts (buffyworld.com) and I looked up the one for "Tabula Rasa," and I KNEW IT! I freaking KNEW that Spike was wearing the same tweed suit!! But how could it now be in the same condition hundreds of years later and the property of some Randy dude when it belonged to William? Meh, whatever. I KNEW I recognized that suit.
OMG, LOOK!!

...It's a siggie.

A marshmallow-seal hybrid?
Those marshmallow blob seals look like they would be super soft, like a mole (really, moles are the softest things ever).

My neighbor went to cash in a Groupon tonight at a local BBQ place and when she got there a group of people were standing outside the building yelling at the locked door. Apparently the BBQ place had sold out and this group of people were verbally assaulting the folks working there so they had to lock the doors. My neighbor had called her order in earlier in the day so she called them from her car and they told her to stay in her car and once the people started leaving they would unlock the door and let her in and when that happened some folks go back out of their cars and started yelling at my neighbor and calling her names. "Why does SHE get BBQ and WE DON'T?!?!"

What the hell? IT'S ONLY BBQ! And I got that Groupon for the same place and I'm scared to use it now! Ridiculous how people act.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
It's not even the music so much as Adele herself I'm tired of, and the pushing from the media.
Also, why can't she just be a talented artist? Why the need to push her as a beauty? Adele is an average-looking woman, but there's this need to push her as a beauty in order to compensate for the rather awful, off-base negativity about her body. Like, she's not fat and there's absolutely nothing wrong with the way she looks, but there's nothing spectacular either, and that's perfectly fine.

I've managed to avoid reading/watching a lot of the stuff on her, so what I do see is refreshing. But it IS very annoying that the media and the industry in general like to oversell the heck out of the handful of people who are hot at any given time, including Rihanna and Taylor Swift. It's like they're daring us to keep liking them, even if we do to begin with.

Awww, Ghostwriter! I loved Ghostwriter.

I don't love what these pictures mean. Lions and tigers and wolves, WTF?! The red wolf looks like he knows why he's getting his picture taken. I must say that I feel the same way about the metallic green bees as you do about the snakes, Saria, but it's still pretty -- OMG. OKAPI.

Okapi are on the list.

Hooraaaayyyy, I has info! Thank you, wavyblonde! ITA with your last post, too.

Poor sad panda. Wait...SadPanda...I don't even watch his stuff, but I am now reminded of TGWTG through him. My brain has its own little media spikes related to things I like, and there is no way to escape those.

a) i have horrible insomnia lately but i don't want to take the stupid Lunesta every night, so here i am awake at 3:00 am

b) the computers were down at work yesterday and they wouldn't let us go home; not just down... the entire courthouse was completely off-line - the people at head office said they couldn't even see our node

c) for the first time since i've been getting them, my Botox injections gave me a massive headache yesterday

d) one good thing... i found someone selling my favourite discontinued MAC eye shadow and she sold it to me for a GREAT price and it came in the mail yesterday!

ARGH. Having to explain to several of my *college* students that when I give them questions with which to analyze an essay in class, that they are prompts for analysis and it is not satisfactory to respond with "yes," or "no" or a couple of words. There are several in this class that need everything spelled out, and I can foresee some "but you didn't say..." and "but I didn't know you wanted us to..." down the road when/if I don't spell everything out to the letter. I'm seeing lots of laziness, and high school-level "hoping to catch a teacher on a technicality," and I don't like it one bit. I haven't had to deal with this brand of b.s. in years.
