I swear the only thing getting me through this class is an incredibly compassionate and supportive teacher. He sometimes comes off as spineless but he believes to start by saying something positive.
I really have been trying to keep things in perspective as far as the take-away from analyzing literature. Its a constant uphill battle though.
But I guess nothing ventured....

I am very angry at myself. I keep losing things. I lost one earring (a pair I loved). I lost (thank god found) my credit card case after I had hysterics because it has crticial things in there - like medicare card, etc. After giving myself the most severe talking to and promising I would do better....I lost a book I loved and was reading. Now I have to spend money and buy it again.
Why can't I focus and concentrate? I do that at work. I've been told I have good concentration. I am so furious at myself for being a dingbat.
I like to believe (idiotic) that my "mission" in life is to make things (including myself) beautiful, but I think what life is trying to teach me is to grow up which means: get f*cking organized: stop losing everything: become like your mother (I loved her but I couldn't measure up) she was totally neat and organized and always on time and be a mensch!!! She had self worth and dignity. STFU, don't act like such a child all the time. Stop being so scared of everything. Be an adult for crying out loud. You are going to be 67 - if not now - when???????
Pissed off mightily at myself.

Oy! curlypearl! Give yourself a break.
------------------
I just turned down a date because the insurance agency he owns refuses homeowner's for pit bull people.
I think I did the right thing. My mind keeps wandering because I can't stop thinking about Russell. And his parents. I'm crying less, but falling asleep a lot.
I'm glad the police never called about yesterday.

I was just kidding Its sweet of you to offer though!
We are reading "A Midsummer Night's Dream". I have to write a short response paper about the first two acts using some form of analysis we have discussed in class. I don't see it being very hard to write, but I am still procrastinating nonetheless. I really need to disable my internet connection when doing homework. Its too easy for me to stray from work to surf the interwebs.

I thought of you ninja when I came across this recipe:
Homemade Spicy Ginger Ale recipe by Season with Spice
Ingredients:
1 cup of fresh ginger – peeled and chopped finely
2 cups of water
1/2 cup of raw or white sugar
1 tbsp of dark brown palm sugar (for a richer color and flavor)
Lime wedges
Soda water
Ice
Process:
1. Add water and chopped ginger into a small pot, and cover. Bring to a boil, then turn fire off, and let steep for 30-60 minutes (depending on how strong you want the ginger flavor).
2. Strain out chopped ginger, and return the ginger-spiced water to the pot. Stir in sugar, bring mixture to a boil, then turn fire off.
3. Allow ginger syrup to cool. In a glass, add syrup (according to your taste) with ice, freshly squeezed lime juice, and soda water.
Notes:
- Many ginger ale recipes include the sugar immediately, but to best extract the ginger flavor (gingerol), leave the sugar out in the first step.
- I prefer a watery ginger syrup since it is easier to mix in to the drink, and it will make a less sweet (and stronger bite) ginger ale. If you prefer more sugar in your ginger ale, keep boiling the water out in Step 2 until the syrup reaches a thick consistency.
- Go ahead and experiment with additional spices in your ginger ale, like black peppercorns, nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, dried chili peppers, star anise, cardamom, and so on (just add in the spices in Step 1 and strain out with the ginger)
- This recipe will make about 1.5 cups of ginger syrup, which will make around 20 glasses of ginger ale. Store ginger syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator (will keep for at least a few weeks, but probably much longer).

Well, SIL decided to not move back after all. She made this choice after she transferred her school credits and put in notice at her apartment. Today is the last day on her lease, she hasn't even started packing yet. She decided to go back to her exes, plural. Two of them have a history of hyper-jealousy and violence. Yes, there's more than 2. Her excuse, she doesn't have any place to stay here. The entire purpose of her visit last weekend was to get an apartment. DH and FIL spent a lot of time looking up places in her price range, she didn't get around to calling even one of them. AND a family friend offered to let her stay with her for a month.

oh thank goodness it's something light and fun like that instead of gory like Titus Andronicus or tragic like Othello!

Sadness underlies my anger. I regret posting what I did - it is overblown because it is masking my real feelings. I know you mean really well, Ninj and I appreciate it.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart Lynette. Your kindness today was unbounded.
To imagine that you treat strangers as wonderfully as you treated me only means that your loved ones are truly lucky.
Thank you again.

I saw the best-looking man I've seen in some time sitting across from me on the train. Mmm, but he was luscious! Sigh.
Whoo, Mark is done with Buffy season 3. I cannot wait for him to start Angel season 1!
