Feeling a little silly this morning which is well needed. So, I decided to rewrite the chorus of "Beautiful Girls" by B.O.B. & Bruno Mars...

Beautiful Curls all over my head. I could just straighten but my time would be wasted. Heat's got nothin on curls or wavy, nothin on curls or wavy! Yeah eh yeah!!!

Ok I guess I will go work now. Lol! SMH...

Ahh! Arabic was cancelled today. My teacher has no idea how much I needed that today! Now the only thing I have to worry about is driving out to school for a 15 minute advising appointment (no comment on what a waste of gas that is), and then hunkering down when I come home, and working on that online test and editing my essay for the rest of the day.

And then TOMORROW?! HUNGER GAMES. Well, sort of. I mean, I'll be waiting in line tomorrow. So there.

My dad had his 3 month post-op screening today to check for more cancer, and he's all clear!

I know that it's not considered wise to go out and interfere in an altercation, especially when one of the involved parties is armed, but the 911 call from neighbors with Treyvon Martin yelling for help in the background continue to kill my faith in humanity when it comes to these situations. I can't help thinking that the mere act of going out and confronting Zimmerman might have led to a different outcome.

I think that if someone had just stood outside on their porch so that Zimmerman could see that he was being witnessed might've stopped this from happening. I doubt he would've shot someone in cold blood if he knew someone was watching.

it makes me nervous to take more than one Tramadol when i've had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner.

I got to a point where both of those meds were about as effective as tic tacs.

Then I ran out and had nothing but Advil, which ended up messing up my stomach. Sometimes as women we can't win!

originally, the doc gave me Percosets after a rupture, but i was SO spacy on one of those that she switched them out for the Tramadol. usually, one of those and a 500 mg Naproxen work to make it stop. last night it just wasn`t co-operating. i waited until just before i went to bed at 11:00 and took a second Tramadol and half a sleeping pill.

i was a bit groggy this morning, but the pain is gone and i feel awake now!

I don't know...I've been reading more about Florida's Stand Your Ground law, and it really is a license to just shoot unarmed people and then claim self defense. It grants you immediate immunity. And considering what we know of Zimmerman--self-proclaimed Neighborhood Watch captain, over 40 calls to police since January about "suspicious" people--I doubt any witnesses would have stopped him.

I have never had homemade graham crackers. I bet they are delicous. Graham crackers always make me think of my grandparents. I would visit them every Thursday and my grandfather would bring me a piece of plain old Spam on a plate (for some reason he thought I loved Spam. I didn't but I ate it anyway). And my grandmother would make graham cracker sandwiches (with powdered sugar icing as the filling). I can still taste them.

My mom always had a snack for me after school every single day and a lot of times it was graham crackers and applesauce. I had forgotten until you mentioned the memory with your grandparents, jeep.

Weird, I can't remember the last time I had curtains. It was probably in my first couple apartments in the mid 1970's. Since then I've used blinds in every house/apartment I've lived in. No curtains of any kind. I wouldn't even know how to buy curtains.

We've got nice blinds that came with the house, but this room was in desperate need of some color with high ceilings and vast expanse (NOT spanse...since it's not a word *eyeroll*) of white walls something was missing.

I can't stop staring at the curtains.
