court adjourned for the day about 15 minutes before it was time for me to leave. fortunately, our systems officer was heading home at 5:00 pm and offered me a ride home so i didn't have to navigate through the press to get out of the building. because the defense has started their cross-examination of the Crown's star witness (that's what we call the prosecution in Commonwealth countries), there were more reporters than usual.
as Ryan and i walked to his car in the underground, 3 police officers came walking down the ramp and headed for the prisoner transfer area. i guess it was time to get those people out of the courthouse.
but it was driving out of the underground that totally unnerved me....
as the car went up the ramp about 8 tv cameras were pointed at us, filming away. there were other people with cameras and still more people leaning over the balustrades to see who was in the car.
wow!
i have to say that i am getting a very small taste of what some celebrities probably go through, but it is a bit frightening and i cannot imagine having to live with that every time you set foot outside your door.

I'm seeing the hunger games with my friends Saturday night and I am super, super excited.
In other news, I finally got my ring! It was on a different truck. 
I am so happy. It fits perfectly. I was really skeptical that what they were going to do would help, but it's amazing. They also cleaned it thoroughly, and I've never seen it glow and shine and sparkle like this. Maybe because when my fiance gave it to me, it was inside a fortune cookie, so it didn't have the cleanest of starts.  But it's gorgeous!
