My bolognaise sauce lacked tomato
I thought an alternative board was made years ago for people who weren't happy with the way things were here.
I'm getting my hair done tomorrow, no more looking scruffy for me!
I really need to kick my sugar habit.

I suddenly feel the urge to bang my head against a wall. Repeatedly.

This must be the new saying around here.
Curlylaura, I thougth there was at the very least ONE new board created...I thought there were three created, but I am not sure. I do know that one or two of them was very "invite only" type of stuff and they had to make sure that you weren't someone who stirred things up...back-ground check of sorts. But, this is only what I heard from other parties who joined, I never tried myself.
At any rate, looks like we have a few new mods, the rules are being looked at...so what else can we, or they do at this point?

I saw a post yesterday about the whole clique thing...and I was thinking to myself that I hadn't seen anything that was TRULY cliquey in a LONG time. Like YEARS. Perhaps new ones have formed, who knows.

I knew I wasn't going mad. I was beginning to think I'd imagined it.
I agree with your last paragraph.
I've tried ignoring nc but keep getting sucked back into it. I can't lurk very well.

Get that cookie butter while you can. We can only order it in limited quantities at the present time.
Siri types my posts for me.

SMDH. I wonder if I will have to remove springy's vagazzling quote.

Someone diagnose me:
Everytime I pee the back half of my pelvic floor hurts. It's very annoying.
I can't decide;
Result of last years surgery?
Constipation, although I don't think I am?
Piles?
Stupid period after effects?
Endometriosis has returned?
I was only at the GP yesterday and completely forgot to ask about this. Stupid girl.

Heaven in a jar!
It's like peanut butter mated with gingerbread cookies and bore a delicious, creamy, and wonderful offspring.
Here's a better explanation:

I'm so annoyed. I wanted a little treat, so I went to Starbucks before work, and got a chai tea latte. I like them, hence why I ordered one... But the dude somehow heard "grande" even though I definitely said "tall." So I got charged for and given a grande, even though the most I can ever drink of something like this is a tall! I didn't realize what had happened until I'd already left, and noticed that the cup is much bigger than usual.
So half of it is going to waste! I just can't drink any more of it... Grr.

Today's family meal:
Way overkill on the amount, but we had a ton of salmon scrap and I wanted to use it while it was still fresh!

I agree mistakes were made on this issue and on plenty of other issues in the past. Things are being worked on now in order to fix them for the future. The mods don't have a desire to stifle discussion of any kind. The changes in the rules are being put in place to help prevent the same issues; to make it easier for the members to know what is and isn't accepted here; and to make it easier for the mods to enforce them. Some of the current rules will no longer exist (like the rule about acronyms), and there will be some new ones.
Yes, I felt the same way as many of you not very long ago, but I also didn't have the information I have now. And even with more information, I still agree that it was handled very badly. However, I can now say with confidence that it wasn't due to indifference. It was an honest mistake.
No quotes in signatures is not the takeaway from this. The takeaway is that too many things have been missed or overlooked for too long, and that it needs to stop. The takeaway is that communication between the staff and the members has been sorely lacking and that it needs to be fixed. The takeaway is that while respectful debate--even of hot topics--is to be encouraged, drama and nastiness toward each other is to be prevented for the good of all. The takeaway is that the rules were too often overlooked or outright ignored out of a desire to be nice and that it needs to stop. The no quotes in signatures without permission rule is only a tiny, tiny part of that. If all some of you have come away with is that signatures are all that's cared about by the staff, then that's one more symptom of the bigger communication and moderation issue.
Gretchen posted what she did in an effort to explain that she realizes there have been mistakes and errors in judgment and that she is working on fixing it. It wasn't an attempt to sweep anything under the rug or ignore anything. It was an acknowledgement. In the end, how this forum is run is completely up to Gretchen. We can all give our thoughts and opinions, but she has the final say, and there will never be a time when there is unanimous agreement on any course of action, no matter how well intentioned.
It was decided that nothing new was going to be gotten from the discussion, and that it was more important to move forward and do our best to see to it that these things don't happen again, for the good of the forum (if the thread were closed because the mods were being criticized, it would have been closed days ago). In the end, it is the good of the entire forum that matters. Will the members always agree as to what that is? No. Will we do so perfectly? No. We aren't infallible and never will be. But all of us, old mods and new, are committed to doing our very best going forward. I can understand if past issues have made it too difficult for you to be optimistic that we are willing to and will work to change things, but I hope you will give us the chance to try.
