Uh-oh, you made the superfans mad! LOL I think it's ridiculous when people can't accept that someone had a different opinion about a book, t.v. show, or movie than they did. It's not like they're going to argue you into forming a higher opinion of the books; if anything, they're more likely to make you change your mind and give it 1 star.
Yep lol. I didn't realise the superfans might come out of the woodwork lol

I just found the book long, tedious, repetitive and so typically male when it came to the sex scenes.

Jon Snow is a *******, I get it, you don't have to repeat it every 5th page of so.

I've been told his writing is 'phenomenal' and some of the best in the genre. Well I can't speak for the genre but... really??? A book that, more than once, talked about Khal Drogo's 'glistening manhood' is the best out there? O_o

Also - boy does GM like to hit you over the head with his foreshadowing!

Nope, I'd never think you're crazy. Acupuncture helps people - who's to say it couldn't help an animal? So how did he/she wind up feeling? Did you go yet?

So, this woman I work with got over-charged at our office cafeteria by 12 cents. Not 12 buck - 12 cents. She then proceeded to browbeat the cafeteria manager until he gave her a card for a free breakfast AND a free lunch. Then she came back and bragged about it. I mean....

First of all, we work in a fairly thriving place where they pay us well. It's 12 cents, dude.

Second of all - she had to go and make some poor guy's life miserable by getting two free meals out of a 12 cent mistake?

Third of all - I wouldn't exactly brag about being so petty over 12 cents.

I'm not saying don't point it out if you get overcharged for something - I've certainly done it at times if the amount is a big enough deal. I'm just saying 12 cents makes her look like a huge jerk when she brags about how she freaked out on the guy until he gave her freebies above and beyond 12 cents just to get rid of her.

i used to work with a massage therapist who was also certified as an EQUINE massage therapist!

and a friend of my sister's, also a massage therapist, was at an SCA event one time where they were offering camel rides and she gave the camel a massage at the end of the day.

We went this morning and he did great. I just had to hold him upright because he kept wanting to roll over for tummy rubs and the needles were in his back. The vet gave him tiny little bits of dried chicken treats and he was instantly in love with her so that probably helped a little.

12 cents... Well, ok then.

Rou, she also showed me how to massage him!

Massaging a camel...I'm sure there's a dirty joke in there somewhere.

If I start talking about taking him in for Reiki y'all need to intervene because I really should draw the line somewhere.

It should not make me giggle this much, but a coworker of mine has missed work today because his shoulder popped out of the socket when he was reaching for his hair dryer.

Honestly, I feel bad for him because he has a bum shoulder that pops out if he looks at it sideways.

But the hair dryer part tickled me

Also - his hair is super short, so I have no clue why he would even need to dry it.

Awwww, how sweet! Glad it went well.

Thank you - I'm glad it isn't just me. I know some might be saying, "Nice score, two free meals for speaking your mind!" Which, in it's place, is fine - again, if it's an overcharge of a bigger amount that makes sense. Or if it was a much bigger mistake, like a chicken salad with no chicken in it - then you get a freebie of some sort.

I also know it wasn't just me, because the girl who sits behind me gave me one hell of an eyeroll after Braggy McFreeFood went back to her desk.

Yesterday I heard a woman ask where she could find the croutons in the supermarket.
I mentally answered "in the oven, ten minutes or so after putting cubes of bread in it."
I do not understand buying croutons. Biggest scam ever. Old bread, olive oil, and some herbs/spices if you wanna get fancy. Whyyyy????

I don't think you're crazy. I'd do it.

Just tell people it's because you live in California now. That's what I always did when I lived there. It's a great blanket excuse.

Haah! I'd do it in a minute, and I live in NY. I'd never get away without being mocked!

And even worse - bread crumbs! Those horrible things in a cardboard can, I'm not even sure they're made of bread!

It's about the most basic kitchen task ever, though. And significantly better than anything you could buy. I don't think saving a few minutes and minimal effort makes up for paying for old bread — one of the cheapest things you can get— average-at-best quality oil (forget olive oil, it's shortening and canola oil: http://www.foodfacts.com/NutritionFa...ons-6-oz/10781), and sub-par taste and texture. Anyone can spare ten minutes. They bake while you make everything else.
