I didn't either, Kae, although I did suspect as much when she didn't resurface after her time out.

Well, just don't go anywhere. It's bad enough that ninja is gone. We don't need all the lively folks leaving.

Misspam left also. I'm not planning to leave...unless I have to.
FWIW, RCW, I'm glad to see you don't plan on leaving.

Ninja, and Misspam, requested their accounts be deleted on the Housekeeping board, so I don't think they're returning.

Sad.

I will miss them.

I thought you expressed yourself very nicely.
I agree, she did. But that's not why her post was deleted. Moderation is not up for discussion. I've sent Midgi a PM, to discuss what her concerns were and I've gotten no response. I'd be sorry if she left because I really like her.

The Say It threads aren't immune to the board rules and guidelines. If you have an issue with something or someone, you can PM that member or any of the moderators. These Say It threads have somehow evolved into a place where it's okay to make not-so-subtle digs at other members or vent about a moderating decision. That's the sort of thing we're trying to move away from.

Only time will tell, but if she does, I wouldn't expect her to return any time soon.

Can someone point me to the thread everyone is talking about

Jeepy, are you coming here this weekend?

I might need a break. This is making me stabby. I feel like I can't speak ... about anything.

I feel like this very post is likely to be deleted.

Yeah. Break time.

Not surprised just saddened by this new awful direction... Definitely not the fun, open minded place it [I]used[/] to be.
A lot of people complained that there wasn't enough moderation and that was the issue. Now it's been stepped up and people are complaining.

It's a no win for the owners and moderators.
They missed the issue, though, which is WHAT they are moderating. I didn't see anyone bring up cuss words.

I respect the difficult position you mods are in,and that these may have not been your decisions. However, the board is undergoing major changes; it seems reasonable that some wish to discuss these changes amongst themselves. PMing mods directly does not permit these discussions. To say "no discussion allowed" seems unreasonable in a community such as this.

Problematic members are on borrowed time. Give matters a little time to work, Amneris.

I really feel that the mods are insulting our intelligence. The last kerfuffle happened because the rules about cursing and moderation discussion weren't enforced? Come on. Didn't nallia write this long post about how tptb totally understand the problem and aren't taking home the wrong message? Because, fyi, that's not the impression you all are giving.

I responded, Medussa. Sorry for any typos, btw. I'm on my phone so it makes it difficult to type long messages, but I didn't want to wait until I got home.

It all depends on the weatherman. I don't do well outside when it's in the 40s-50's. I figured since the festival was so late this year we would get some good weather!!
But I'll keep you posted!

Seriously? Did I just see someone get reprimanded for using a curse word that got censored? What on earth are those asterisks even FOR, then?!

Posters are requesting account deletion and people are having their posts deleted like crazy (at least in this thread) - what the eff is going on on this site???

Note to TPTB: when I write "eff," I am not usually substituting for the full word it came from. Same with "freaking" or "friggin'" - I find these words fun to say, so I use them. Am I in danger for doing so?

Who the hell ever complained about curse words?

^Not just that, but there's such a thing as context. Profanity because people get heated and decide to insult each other is of course unacceptable, but threads where members just want to blow off steam? Really? Whose delicate sensibilities are offended by words seen and heard pretty much everywhere?

I don't know, but before today I figured I'm too lazy to start over and find another board. Now I'm not so sure. I had planned on PM'ing you to know if you have any blogs because I NEED YOUR RAMBLINGS IN MY LIFE!!!

I'm feeling sad because there's a family friend whose dad is sick with cancer and is probably in his last few days. I grew up with this family and it hurts that he'll soon be gone.

And I also feel sad because my own dad has not been the greatest of health and I'm a little worried about him too. He's in his 60's and I know there's not that much time left in the world.

Sorry for the Debbie Downer-ness, y'all.
