Well, dang, rou...I should have had some of my fave tulips sent to you...
My kid's principal, who's bday is today, loved, love the yellow tulips I gave her...she even wanted the vase, which I said she could have b/c I have a bunch of them...I'm sorry...

You know, back when I was a Clerical Goddess, I just hated that whole Administrative Professional Day thing. I would have preferred a raise or a big fat bonus rather than have that Day where you get some token flowers or gift or *dog forbid* a lunch out with the boss.

i work in a union environment so no raises or bonuses allowed.
and i really do like my boss; lunch with him wouldn't be a bad idea. last week, we were at a judges' seminar together and i sat with him at lunch and he made sure i was included in the conversation, that people knew who i was, how much i'm valued and it was really pleasant. next thing i knew, i'm showing a Superior Court judge the pictures of my garden on my tablet! 
my manager in Ottawa used to take me and G out for REALLY nice lunches at great restaurants! G would be nervous and uncomfortable - she wasn't used to places like that - and Jacques and i would be chatting away about wine and music and golf...  he was a lovely man, too!

I consider myself a secretary (tho I don't type well and don't do most normal secretarial stuff) and I don't go for the whole puffy administrative professional whatever. And I don't need a special day, thank you. Electricians and ironworkers and teachers and garbage men and car sales people don't get a special day.
I have a great (tho super annoying) boss and he doesn't need to treat me any differently today. Tho he does usually take me to lunch just because he likes to take me to lunch.

Seems the leak coming from above might be due to a problem with the fascias, brickwork and the biblical amount if rain.
Double awesome.
Oh and the uk is currently in a drought with hose pipe bans all over the place.
How the hell has this happened?
