You can still go to the college you want if you go to community college first.
I know from your standpoint, being your age, that some things feel urgent and like they can't possibly go any other way. College is that way. Kids get told about it and get idealized notions of going and the "perfect" one that will make all the difference, but really there are many different paths one can take to get to a destination.
Maybe you're right and your mom is over-reacting. Or maybe she's just thinking of what's best for you and has legitimate reasons for suggesting something else. You should have a real conversation with her about your concerns.
