A friend I went to JWU with was musing about starting a food truck and she could do her food --- Filipino. I know she wasn't all that serious, but it's kind of brilliant. There aren't any other Filipino food trucks that I know of and sizzling sisig would be the perfect good truck treat. Not to mention lumpia Shanghai and halo halo.

I'm sitting in the dental hospital waiting to see the surgeon about my crappy jaw. Then I have to go to work.

But... It's a public holiday on monday and therefore a 3 day weekend for me because it's fallen on my weekend off!

AUGH WHERE IS THE FREAKING VIDEO WHERE IS IT I KNOW IT'S SOMEWHERE BECAUSE IT WON'T STOP TRYING TO SELL ME THINGS. WTF WTF WTF?!?! Is this the dumbest virus ever, just annoying people by continually telling them about a product and not even trying to make you click something to buy it? Seriously WHERE IS IT. It is NOWHERE HOW DO I MAKE IT SHUT UP DAMMIT.

i have to admit that we DO kind of like it when you're not nodding off during the chirpy video and that it REALLY helps when you're hearing evidence in a trial!

Hee...I did close my eyes for a couple hours, though I didn't succeed at sleeping. Does that count? I think Karma paid me back for my foolishness, though it was nice at first to actually get called into a courtroom: I got my period in the middle of jury selection and had to go on a hunt for a pad, because the first machine ate my quarter and the nickel someone lent me and the second one on a whole different floor was just empty and open (leaving me unable to use the nickle someone else lent me - not cool!). Luckily a nice lady in Jury Services gave me two of hers, "just in case." Yay for the nice lady! Boo for the Rush Limbaugh-loving tool who decided that the chick who was minding her own business trying to read her copy of A Raisin in the Sun needed to hear about his icky opinions on politics and our country's judicial system, which apparently should not care about reasonable doubt because we should be going for some abstract concept of "the truth" and "ignore small details to get to it." What. I can't even I JUST WANTED TO READ AFTER EATING MY SANDWICH, DAMN.

When I went back into the room where people were getting picked to be on a month-long civil case jury, which I had come to view in the same way as the other reluctant potential jurors in the room because a whole MONTH, for reals?!, the lawyers on each side started dismissing people like crazy and now we have to come back on Monday (luckily not tomorrow). I can honestly say that I feel biased about this particular case, though, so I'm going to just skip self-analysis, assume that this would affect my ability to judge the facts objectively, and say so if/when I'm called up. Getting to see what it's like to be on a jury is so not worth losing an entire month of peak getting-stuff-done hours.

STILL. TALKING. WHY.

Oh thank the LORD, I found the video! It was a freaking embedded still image with a voiceover - how shady is that? How many people have gone around closing windows left and right not knowing that what appeared to be a harmless little picture was what was babbling at them?

So tired...would have gone to bed earlier, but had to stagger my medicine dose at least a bit because I forgot that having my phone off if I got called into a courtroom would mean having no alarm to take the afternoon dose. Bluh. Sleep now.

Okay, one more comment on that Ice Princess movie I watched yesterday: having your character randomly insert elementary equations into conversations about things that are common knowledge does not make her a genius physics geek. These aren't even high school level equations and seriously, you couldn't think of a better way to have her start babbling about mass and velocity at a party? Look, anyone can tell that some big jock is probably going to break a window if he goes ziplining through someone's house. She doesn't need to be all "I SPEAK MATH " about it. There was absolutely nothing she said that was physics-related and wasn't like this. Major side-eye as well to the scene where she told the bad actor love interest that her project was physics-y and he said something about "velocity and stuff" and she acted all shocked and weirded out like, "How do you know about that?" Seriously? Seriously, movie? You need to have him explain knowing about concepts like acceleration or whatever by having worked on cars before? Who DOESN'T already know these words? Who actually expects a high schooler NOT to know what velocity is?

Wow, considering that this was my introduction to Michelle Trachtenberg years ago, I wonder if my reaction to Dawn would've changed had the movie been memorable. Would I have given her pity-like points for all the painful dialogue (*accusatory tone* "Are you happy about my feet?!") she had to choke out in this thing, been harder on her and expected her to make up for the fail, or focused entirely on "look, they're skating, whee!" and wondered when she and Buffy would head down to the rink for some bonding time?

Oh, brain. You're such total mush right now.

OH! I also got on the wrong bus because it is only apparently the right bus before 3:30 pm on weekdays and frustrated the hell out of my mom because she had to come get me and I couldn't keep her on the phone long enough to figure out just where I was. Yaaaayyy.

I am seriously sleeping now or I'll just collapse. In two hours when my mom wakes me up to say goodbye for the weekend (she's driving my brother all the way to Vegas for a baseball tournament), I wonder if I'll even be able to land in the ballpark of lucid. "Mom? WhazgoinonisthatPapaSmurf?"

OMG it's like I'm stoned. SLEEP, WS. NOW.

i know it's an inconvenience, but we have a trial wrapping up next week that started the last week of February. in that time, we've had another murder trial that ran 6 weeks and we're on the 4th week now of yet ANOTHER murder trial.

we also did a 3-week long coroner's inquest into the on-duty death of a police officer.

these things can take time - even civil cases...

Jobseekers have a scheme for setting up your own business. I'm considering it - but I have a) terrified and b) have no idea what I'm doing and c) don't have a lot of time to apply for it.

I have two ideas - one is an online craft business selling my handmade leather journals.

The other is more scary - opening up a bookstore. Kind of a dream job but something I am possibly too young and inexperienced for? Ive never even had work experience in a book store, i just frequent them a lot and review books online.

If a bookstore was successful (big if)I would obviously be tied down to wherever I opened...

Dad reckons I should combine the two.

But for either idea I have no idea if there is really a need for them. Both are things I am passionate about but also seem almost like common 'dreams' if you know what I mean. I'm sure many people have wanted to own a bookstore, or sell sketchbooks...

BF woke up really early this morning, and when I finally dragged my butt out of bed, he had made me a cheesecake with strawberry topping

I love wild_sasparilla's sleep deprivation-induced rants and all their stoned, capslocky goodness.

FB friend posts how it's Friday so no complaints allowed and to save them for Monday. Well, seeing as how this is my Monday, I'll do as I please.
