I was grilling a baguette this morning to make toast, I needed to cheer myself up after yesterday's fainting drama, and I set fire to it.

My flat now smells of burnt bread.

And I have no bread in the house to make toast.

Y'all, I can't. I read a comment today from someone in Denmark about how blackface is just like self-tanning and that if it were so bad you wouldn't be able to just pick up what you need for it at the drug store. It's only racist in America because silly Americans have racism problems. Help me.

So, my ankle felt fine when I went to bed. I woke up, and it was a little bit achy. I walked on it for a few minutes, and it was like the damn thing was on fire.

Only I could run 10 miles, feel fine for ~12 hours, then injure an ankle while sleeping.

I think I somehow aggravated my peroneal tendon. Doesn't feel like any tendinitis I've had before though.

Grumble grumble grumble.

Why can't I sleep more than 4 or 5 hours a night? Why!?!?

Xcptnl's cream puffs just gave me an idea for my lemon verbena sugar. I think I'll have choux meet strawberry shortcake and make puffs filled lemon verbena creme Chiboust and strawberries on my days off.

I've read on these boards about parents actually trying to discuss their university-age kids' grades with their professors, but I'm reading STFU Parents and someone posted one that's even better. A parent going into their 24-year-old child's job to talk about said child's shifts and hours! Ugh, what the hell is wrong with some people?

My poor daughter. Well maybe not. She is so independent she would be horrified if I did that! How do these parents expect their kids to cope with anything in their lives???

Honestly, it sounds like straight up nightmare material.

Heh, not at all on the cream puffs, just something different! I love them all --- classic pastry cream might be my slight preference since it's how I learned to make them, but all are good. I love the lightness and simplicity of whipped cream as the filling.

I feel like complete and utter craptasm. I got my period at 3am and my cramps actually woke me up from a dream I was having about my period. I couldn't go back to sleep after that, and then my dad busted in my room, b-----ing at 7:30 am. Nobody left me any breakfast. So now I'm just set in my pisstacular mood for the rest of the day.

I just got in my car and drove around for an hour. I'm still stewing, so it didn't really help.

It really is ridiculous how long the list if sub-forums here is when you scroll through the app. These boards could use some serious condensing.

Café de olla sticks. They may not be pretty, but they sure taste good and prove once again that chewy cookies can take a hike.

Flavors being almond meal, freshly ground coffee beans and some brewed coffee, Ceylon (Mexican/true) cinnamon, anise, and a little freshly ground black pepper.

I'm going to have french fries for lunch and pie for dessert (two different places). This is all because my neighbor invited me out to a few places today and I couldn't be rude and say no so this means the calories don't count. Right? Right.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
