I let the mint leaves steep for a full 3 hours. I also used 2 cups of half and half, and 2 cups of heavy cream instead of all half and half. We like to eat it right when it comes out of the ice cream maker. I prefer a soft-serve consistency.

In unrelated news, my neighbor just brought over eight pounds of strawberries. Eight pounds, people!!! I guess I'll be making strawberry jam tomorrow. I'm thinking more of the strawberry with balsamic & black pepper.

I'm definitely trying to grow strawberries next year.

I noticed today we have beans!!! BEANS!!!! I grew beans!!! When I pointed them out to the dog (don't judge, I'm home alone and he listens well) he tried climbing up into the garden bed. Oh no, no, no you don't.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

So, today I went to church with the little guy. Danae and the husband stayed home. When I left my house was spotless, but when I returned? Chaos. How did those two manage to wreck the place in 3 hours? I have been killing myself keeping the place spotless so that I don't have to go on a cleaning spree before vacation, but all my efforts seem to be in vain.

PSA: those "like this if" posts on Facebook are annoying! Stop it right now!!!!

Ex from today, like this if you think this is cute, like this if you know someone with cancer, like this if you know God has a plan for your life, like this if you want no more cancer (duh).

There's more but I have to go hide some updates now!!
