Otherwise I'm staying in NY. Aside from affordability, the main reason I continue to live at home is that I don't want to have roommates. I already did that and I'd take my parents over it (though some days it's more difficult than others).
If I were closer I would rent you the guest room-but it would be a horrible commute on the commuter rail which is a 1/2 hour from my house by car. And then probably over an hour into the city. Sounds great huh? But no guarantees I would not be bugging you Especially after 2 big cups of icedcoffeecrack.

I don't get this.

I imagine it has to do with Kool-aid advertising in some way that I just don't know about. Someone explain.

Oh I'm going to. I crave his food all the time and never make it as good as he does. I'm also hoping for some empanadillas with garlic sauce. I need to look through the cookbook he put together to see if there's anything else I can get out of him .

My fat thumb will make mistakes.

saria, I think it has something to do with the Kool-aid man busting through bricks (that was part of their ad campaign) and the big bad wolf is paying him to do that so he can get to the piggies.

This is wood, but you get the idea.

Thanks, springy! I figured it had to be something like that.
TANG was the awful artificial drink of choice in the DR. I think by the time I got to the US, Kool-Aid wasn't as popular anymore because I don't remember seeing much about it growing up.

I just watched the Bob Marley documentary. His daughter made me very sad. One line she said made me cry. When he was dying and in the hospital and she said this was a time he should been just ours but he wasn't. He was not a very good father when they were growing up either. Sigh.

New window unit bought and installed. It was 85 in my apartment. It was awful.

Yay for modern appliances.

It was probably Davin. Danae is actually pretty good (better at drawing than me, though she sometimes needs help spelling her answers). He had grabbed my phone earlier this evening (and somehow put it in airplane mode, just for funsies). Today he also figured out how to pull all the silverware out of his grandma's drawers and also managed to climb on top of her garbage can and then onto her kitchen island. He was kind of a monkey today.

my nana was the Belle of the Ball tonight and my aunt The Former Olympic Athlete said i looked very ladylike doing tequila shots with my uncles and the other people i used to go to high school with...

and my mom wore a beautiful dress to the party.

the food was amazing, the wine was great and they made this terrific drink out of iced hard apple cider, cranberry wine and vodka....

the bartender was adorable! my cousin said i should have asked for his name and number... silly girl!

eta: there's a family brunch at 10:00 am tomorrow. i have to call my boss at 8:00 and see if i can come in late... eep!
