Say It. I Dare You.

Yippie!!! My BFF coming over tonight, spending all day tomorrow with me, we are meeting up with one of our closest friends from high school (who is visiting from San Diego) to watch fireworks, and then we are meeting again for (liquid) lunch on Thursday!!

This is turning into a fantastic, and unusually outgoing, week off.

Worn out iPhone. Need I say more?
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I want to hang out in an untamed kitchen!!!

saria, that reminds me of a quote in a long-ago David Brooks column in the New York Times:

The shallowest people end up blissfully happy and they are so vapid they don't even realize how vapid they are because vapidity is the only trait that comes with its own impermeable obliviousness system.

I'll share my own similar story to ease your pain. We bought a new outdoor umbrella base a few days ago and it is HUGE, black with a silver pole, and has wheels on it. Well, the thing weighs over 100 lbs so Mr. Spring unboxed it in the back of the truck and was going to roll it to the backyard and our neighbor a few doors down saw us and said "You having a pole party with that thing?? I've never seen a portable one before!". Well, he meant stripper pole and all I thought was that he was talking about he'd never seen an umbrella stand on wheels before. I said something about "Yeah, we could just roll it to wherever the party is!" We're going to their house tomorrow evening for a 4th of July party. Mr. Spring pointed out to me what I missed, which I can't believe I missed because I'm usually the crude mind.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
I love scones. And corn muffins.

My poor senior kitty who was very sick yesterday, went outside yesterday afternoon and has not come home yet.

I'm very sad. Its possible that he went into the woods and died, or that he was too weak and something got him .....

Rou, that's a great one.

Posting this here as well because I love it:

“It saddens me to see girls proudly declaring they’re not like other girls – especially when it’s 41,000 girls saying it in a chorus, never recognizing the contradiction. It’s taking a form of contempt for women – even a hatred for women – and internalizing it by saying, Yes, those girls are awful, but I’m special, I’m not like that, instead of stepping back and saying, This is a lie.
…
The real meaning of “I’m not like the other girls” is, I think, “I’m not the media’s image of what girls should be.” Well, very, very few of us are. Pop culture wants to tell us that we’re all shallow, backstabbing, appearance-obsessed shopaholics without a thought in our heads beyond cute boys and cuter handbags. It’s a lie – a flat-out lie – and we need to recognize it and say so instead of accepting that judgment as true for other girls, but not for you.”
And this is really funny:

Did you get a new tattoo? I got a 15 year old butterfly redone a month ago. And I have my next 2 lined up. One of which is turning that butterfly into a thigh piece.

I love looking at tattoos.

I'm up to about a dozen tats now, all with great meaning to me. I got 2 small ones this trip. Bear claws on my right wrist (symbols of good luck and courage and Bear is the nickname of someone important to me) and a copy of my late Pita's pawprint over my heart (which is still broken even after 3 months).

One of my friends has a bunch of different butterflies all over her back. They are so gorgeous.

Yeah, I wonder when they'll get that fixed. It's been days now of not being able to upload.

I can't believe I'm held up because I stupidly forgot that one of my jobs paid cash. No paperwork for it. I only worked there a couple of months and I have a bunch of other jobs that all check out. If I had remembered, I would not have listed it. Sigh. So now I'm going to have to take a trip to this place and hope that the chef is still working there and remembers me four years later and ask him to certify that I worked there once upon a time.
I must be a big ole dipweed today because I still don't understand the term 'untamed kitchen'. I mean, not matter what body part it is, I don't understand why it's called kitchen.

Probably, but I find untamed kitchen gets the message across pretty well, both for the similar k sound and the idea of things getting heated and cookin'.
Jeepy, just pretend she wrote untamed garden.
Well, I've told Mr. Spring "the kitchen is CLOSED" before and he got the idea.

No clue where I got it from.
