Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
Well, Buddy is officially my kitty now. The other owners never returned the shelter's calls. I was able to get his shot records, too, which is nice.

He was originally turned in as a stray in January and adopted out through Petco (who adopts out pets from the Animal Rescue League) in February. He showed up at my place in June.

I wonder how he originally became a stray. He's vocal and sort of attention needy, but he's really a sweet cat who is good with his litter box and scratching post.

Yay, RCC!

The rescue group I got Hazel from didn't have a lot of info on her. She had been found near an abandoned house with her kittens around three years ago. Her kittens were adopted out quickly, but she remained in foster homes for over a year before I got her two years ago. I was told that she was a year old when I got her, which would make her 3 now, supposedly. However, according to her vet, she's actually more like 6 years old. How and why she got to that abandoned house I'll never know. She's a chatty cat too and very sweet. Sometimes people get a kitten and once he/she turns into an adult, their humans get tired of them and dump them like garbage. Which is despicable but unfortunately, common.

It's interesting and sad the story some of these strays have.

The shelter said he's five, and the vet three, but the vet's look in his mouth was pretty brief. If he is three, and if he does have some Maine Coon in him, he may still have some growing to do.

He seems to be adjusting well to being an indoor cat. As long as he's the center of attention, he's happy. He loved it when my parents were up. Three people to adore him.

After I slather on enough dipilatory cream to get rid of my facial fuzz, I look like Colonial Sanders.

Universe, please don't take this as a call for a heat wave. Just a little less of that cold, biting wind would be nice. I don't even mind the clouds.

Meanwhile, it's so hot here one of my dogs just stopped on our afternoon walk, as if to say, "That's it. I can't continue. Carry me."

I am now wearing nothing but underpants, and I don't even sweat easily.

That's how hot it is. Dreadful weather.

I hate today. Hate, Hate, Hate! My poor old doggie has to be put down. Her arthritis has progressed so much that it's now hard for her to move around and it's affecting her breathing. I've done all I could for her the last few months but it's not enough. Life will be so strange without her here. My parents got her when I was pregnant with my oldest. I was living with them still, waiting for my husband to get stationed. I took care of her, trained her, and loved her. Even after moving out she was my dog. My parents divorced and my mom kept the dog. She has lived with me for the last 4 years as my mother could no longer take care of her. She has been around all of my kids lives. She protected them as babies, played with them as toddlers, and snuggled them ever since. I'm going to miss her terribly.

Desperately need some white light and good vibes.

My supervisor wants to meet with me Friday. I made a few mistakes last week and did my best to rectify them.

I made the mistake of telling my mother, she started screaming that of course I'm getting fired

The supervisor is very very nitpicky. I'm doing my best and literally breaking my back. I was in at 7 am for the past 8 days. She makes me feel like all I do is make mistakes.

I'm so upset and terrified I'm getting fired.
{{{{Jess}}}}

I'm so, so very sorry.

CIBC, I'm sending you positive thoughts that it all goes ok!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
I think that if she wanted to fire you, she'd just do it now.

Perhaps it just a review on things.

Thanks guys. We're pretty sad here. My dad is taking her so I'm not a bawling mess at the vet's office.

((CIBC)) Hope it goes ok.

I think I have maxillary sinus swelling. The swelling is no big deal (in fact, it looks good --- higher cheekbone on one side), but I really don't want to get a CT Scan to confirm it's not a bone injury. I never bashed my cheekbone, so it's got to be sinuses.

I feel fine ---- this is annoying. I think everyone is sick of me saying "Hey, c'mere: feel this. Now feel the other side. It's different, right? Right?"

(Yes, curlypearl, I'm going to the doctor on Monday, although I could have sworn it went away a few weeks ago ((apparently this kind of thing comes back).
