By the way, Lucky Denim should definitely have had their 50% sale by now. Did those mofos have the sale but not send me notification? They've been sending me all their promotional material, but now I'm wondering if they were being sneaky and not advertising it through email. I didn't have a chance to drop by any of the stores, so I don't know. I'm going to hope that the sale is just later this year because I want my jeans!

I enjoyed the first book, it all went downhill after that. I couldn't finish book 4 or 5, I've tried a few times. Many people didn't like book 4 though, it's about "everybody else" not the characters you're used to already by the time you've gotten to it. Then for book 5 he goes back to the regulars. Just got a call from my dad, who got a call from my sister who told him that our maternal grandmother is near death. Why my sister couldn't call me directly is beyond me. My grandmother has been sick for a long time and has been in a nursing home for a year. She's in the early stages of dementia, has diabetes, high blood pressure and other things. She hasn't eaten in a couple of days and they've taken her off all her meds. So it'll be just a matter of time. Honestly, I wasn't very close to her and didn't like her as a person. I felt that she was a bitter, nasty person. I'm not looking forward to going to her funeral but it would look bad if I don't show. I knew this day was coming for awhile but I'm still a little shook up.

Also, I alerted my supervisor of the likelihood that I would have to take time off to go to the funeral as my grandmother lives out of state. Turns out I won't get paid for any bereavement leave for my grandmother. I'd be covered for 5 days if it were my parent, spouse or child or 3 days if it were a sibling. Any extended family members don't rate. I ****ing hate this place. I refuse to use vacation time for it because this is so NOT a vacation. I plan to take the time unpaid. Besides, I was already approved for a vacation at the end of next month, which I'll desperately need.
