You know you're attending an HBCU when included in the orientation gift bags is a double sided paddle/boar bristle brush and two satin bonnets.

The band is pretty good.

It feels like I've been using the restroom every five minutes. I've looked at my diet these past few weeks and realized that I was consuming way to much sugar which is the probable cause of my frequent urination. I used to be pre-diabetic when I was younger and I refuse to be that way again.

----------------------------

Why are textbook so expensive?!?!?!? Seriously, does anybody know? Luckily I already had one of the books but the others will still run me about $500. I'm really on the fence about whether or not to call Capt. Death and ask him if he still has any of his old textbooks. Would that be out of line?

50 Sheds of Grey for Friday:

Shed builders don't like to boast but I had to admit it wasn't the first time I'd had to get planning permission for one of my erections.

right! my most expensive book is $296!!! Who do they think are buying these texts? We're broke college students! Why don't they get that? My parents claimed me on their income taxes last year so I didn't qualify for financial aid. All of this money is coming out of my and my parents pockets.

Hopefully I'll be eligible for scholarships next semester.

I have to go to my friend's baby shower tomorrow, which is all fine and good... I mean, I hate showers of any sort, but she's my friend so obviously I'm going. But it's one of those showers where they want everyone to bring a book, and I somehow got stuck being the one to go shopping for books from my mom and sister and I.

We don't have any bookstores anywhere near us, either, so I have to try and find some acceptable options from Target. Hmph.

A water pipe burst under my building and there was some minor flooding in my neighbor's apartment. The only halfway decent neighbor's I've had since moving here are going to have to move to another apartment.

The landlady came over to explain the situation to me and tell me they had to do some heavy spraying inside and out. She just immediately lets him in and while she's still talking to me this stuff. Before I know it, some strange man is in my bedroom, with my dirty underwear still on the floor, spraying . . . something around my backless bookshelf.

I have a bunch of crap I'm going to have to move so they can inspect for damage. Then they're going to have some guy do some work in my bathroom, and that too is going to need to be cleared out. We don't have a linen closet, all that stuff is on a large shelf which now has to be moved. Where? I have no bloody clue. When these people are coming over, she's not quite sure. It could be today, it could be tomorrow, it could be early next week.

So my home is going to be in disarray for who knows how long. I'm going to have to deal with people bugging me, strangers running in and out, hanging around. I don't like to have people in my house, even if I like them. I'm just waiting for them to come in the middle of my workout, when I'm covered in sweat, stinkin' to high heaven and not being able to take a shower.

AND I lost my eyeliner sharpener.

I'm gonna have a fun week!

My little girl started 2nd grade today! I'm so excited for her and I can't wait to hear about it.

I love my kids!

I would be freaking out way too much to make such a caviller post about cravings. *Thankfully* it's *that* time of the month.

From one of my friends on FB:

That just reminds me of "I've been saving this for a divorce if ever I get a husband".
