Mr. Spring: "I think it's so neat how you can use these little radios to talk to people all over!" (as he's listening to some random conversation on his HAM radio)
Me: "Yeah....kinda like a telephone."
The major side eye he flashed me was priceless.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

I didn't think she married young. I thought you said before she was freaking out about being close to 30 and not married - or maybe not?
Anyway, first of all, you don't know all the struggles and insecurities she may have that you don't see, and second, she is her and you are you and you have talents and abilities she doesn't, so enjoy being YOU! I hope you feel better soon.

I know several dispatchers who have HAM radio addictions. I don't know how they stand it. When I come home from work I do not want to hear or talk on a radio.
They do come in handy from time to time. Several years ago, during bad storms from hurricane Ivan, an area county had a microburst. It washed the top of a mountain down, into a neighborhood. It was horrible. Houses were washed away, people were trapped, etc... A HAM operator managed to contact the dispatch office. If he didn't have the radio, no one would have known.
And yes, I'm distracted from Coppers again. Lol

At dusk we watched a bat flying around and around our driveway catching bugs, it was still pretty light out. This went on for ten minutes or so then a hummingbird took offense and chased it. They're so feisty!

Great! I will watch these now. I always end up on random YouTube videos wondering how I got there. It's a trap.
I keep laughing at HAM operator. Lol. I love rum.
I liked those. I am always amazed by it. There is no way I could even attempt it, and I always wonder how many injuries they have had, before they perfecting it.
I have watched too many skateboarders fall off of ramp and rails.

Can't stop listening to A Flower Named You by AKG! I love it so! And I was listening to it before and after watching Parks & Rec, so my mind links it to Leslie and Ben (I ship it like FedEx). Ugh, I love Ben Wyatt so much. I want my own Ben. Sigh.

I can't believe he had to get a license to operate a ham.
Inappropriate comment so far tonight: Two guys are talking about German food and one guy says "Bill, I'm getting a little hungry thinking about that wienerschnitzel..." and it was SO inappropriate.
I'm still laughing about it. Dude, seriously?

Lol, to all of it. The FCC is very strict with hams, and apparently Bill is stingy with his wienerschnitzel.

Oh man, I don't even wanna think about the injuries one could incur by screwing up jumping from smokestack to smokestack or something.
Okay, so Mark loves Dawn. Right from her introduction, he's in her corner. I just...I don't get it. I don't get how someone so fun can relate to someone who was written aiming for normal kid and missed so widely she landed in accidental sociopath for a long, long time. I also wouldn't have expected someone who had such an abusive upbringing to relate to someone who is so completely full of all of the effed-up "Waaa, my slice of cake was only half an inch bigger than yours, I am SUCH A VICTIM" crap that made me full of stewing violent rage at my brother throughout my adolescence. Hell, even now that my mom admits to having spoiled him and even regretting it, I am still nowhere near over it. Possibly because nothing has changed. Still, my real problem with her character until like...half a season ago, maybe? was how the writers wanted me to like her but she was so NOT who they thought they were showing me. Kinda like they did with Riley, presenting him as all perfect and crap when we know damn well he's not.
This differs markedly from my reaction to his love for Anya, for which I kind of envy him, because he gets to enjoy her character for so much longer. It took me until her speech in "The Body" to develop love for Anya out of nowhere in a complete 180 from being annoyed with her for existing and grudgingly admitting she had some funny lines. I'm still not quite sure how that worked - like, she could do no wrong for me after that point, when before then she could do no right. If I rewatched her episodes from the start of her character arc, would I retroactively like her the whole time or would I be pissed at her again?
I feel like it's a pretty safe bet he's going to like Blondie, and I know for a fact that he's going to call him by name, which is not going to be fun because I hate his stupid simpering writers-try-to-make-me-like-him-by-making-him-sad-and-lovesick-but-it-won't-work-because-he-still-sucks GUTS and also because as much as my brother pisses me off, he does not deserve to share a name with this fool.
So, my problems with certain characters aren't completely down to the fact that it was clear that the writers wanted me to feel a certain way about them and my resentment of that fact, but it seems to have been the deciding factor. With Blondie, how transparent were they about their whole "He just wuvs Warren, that makes him a woobie!" gambit? REJECTED. This is also definitely the reason for a lot of Faith's cringe-worthy trying-to-be-cool dialogue. I will never believe that she actually is cool while she keeps talking like that.

That right? He has the right to demand certain emotions from her? And no, just no to the rest of the comment saying she was "pushing him away" and saying she does it with all guys. The woman was in shock from learning of her mother's condition. Her situation was soooooo not about Riley and he did not have the "right" to act as if his feelings of being rejected reflected reality in any way.
What. WHAT. "Stable and healthy." I just - did you skip all the episodes after "Hush" and pop back in now? HOW CAN YOU BE BLIND TO HOW SCREWED UP HE COULD BE. HOW.
Stupid random infuriating pockets in the otherwise awesome Mark Does Stuff comments section. *mumblegrumble*

And to think I've quit Mark Watches. I just couldn't abide the place thanks to the LoK viewing. This on top of the absolutely horrible handling of the great Spuffy debacle where Mark and his mods responded pretty deplorably.

She was 27. In our region, that's pretty young. She always said if she wasn't married by 30, she would marry some random guy off the street.

I ship international pretty regually. If I can help, let me know. International shipping to the Uk costs about $17 for 2lbs and under $21 for 3 lbs and under. Over 4lbs, you can no ship First Class and have to use Priority and that's about $33

Dear Ninja,
In a fit of desparation, I went to Crazy-Eyebrow lady. Guess what! Someone else was there. This was SUPER DUPER quick and it didn't hurt nearly as much. I can't believe how fast she was. Turns out, she is the manager and she gave me a her phone number. She said I can call to see when and where she is working. So excited to have a new threading lady. I think you and I should schedule a date to go get threaded.

A guy on the radio this morning said he saw a post on FB about Armstrong passing. The first comment was something a long the lines of how depressed he must of been after the Tour de France titles were stripped
Oh how I love this line
