I was all ready to like Jeepy's post but no. I am still sans catalog and she is sitting there bragging about looking through hers. boooooo.

And I've already looked at the online catalog and now I want the real thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scrills, yours has to come in soon if Jeep and I both got ours already!! Maybe today!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
I'll be sitting down with that dratted IKEA catalog later today, along with a glass of riesling (or 2) and see if anything appeals to me. I will stifle my need for an organized catalog and see how it goes.

The Paralympics doesn't grab me the same as the Olympics and i feel kind of bad about it. I do wish both Olympics would run at the same time though.
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
rou is jealous of all the people getting Ikea catalogues at home.

because she lives in a small city where the closest Ikea store is 90 minutes away, they don't send them to her.

she is so pea green with jealousy that she is reduced to speaking about herself in the 3rd person!

Rou, you can go to their website and sign up to get them, that's the only reason I get one. When we lived in FL there wasn't even one in our state at the time and I still got one.

Yes, we're hours away as well (we being Scrills and me).

So, I was in line at Wal-Mart this afternoon, when a really nice ER nurse I remembered from my dog bite days (no, it wasn't a pit bull) appeared behind me. We got to chatting, and I happened to glance down at what she planned to buy. Friends, it was 50 Shades of Blech.

She's a lovely person, and it's not my place to judge, but boy, oh boy, you just never know about people, do you?

No sir-ee.

Jeep, sometimes I think they coach those people to be that picky. Did you know they already have their house picked out and purchased when they participate in that show? They just find two other houses for folks to tour for the purpose of taping.

IKEA!!! I get the catalog every year to ogle since I only go to the store about once a year. It's a day trip. 3 hours total driving and many hours in the store (missbanjo, after all these years the store still boggles me the way it's laid out. But I think that's why I love it so. It's just so odd and people are roaming around willy nilly and you if you blink too long you miss our on the lightbulbs that cost 14 cents!).
My catalog is already all dog eared.

Since when do we all have to like the same things? It was a rant for goodness sakes.

I know it sound a little dramatic, but really I've done nothing but pour myself into my kids for 8 years. I abandoned a career or spending time with friends. They only had a babysitter maybe a handful of times. So its definitely a big change.

Thank you so much for asking.

On the Yelp thing, it's not just the negative reviews, the positive ones are completely useless, too, a lot of the time. And the reviews can be wildly contradictory. People on sites like Chowhound are just generally more knowledgeable and the reviews more consistent. You can find people who don't agree on one restaurant, but they're usually much more specific about what was wrong and what they didn't like and they tell you exactly what they had without the hyperbole that plagues a lot of Yelp reviews. And likewise they're much more specific when throwing out superlatives. I'd rather not to have to sift through review after review from people I have no reason to trust.

And allrecipes, I will always think it's the very worst recipe site on the planet. Sites like epicurious, Food 52, Chow, Serious Eats, Leite's Culinaria, just to name a few have actual tested recipes and usually from people who know what they're doing. Anyone can submit a recipe to Allrecipes pretty much. So, yeah, I think there's an astronomical jump in quality. Allrecipes is to me the Yahoo Answers of cooking --- it's just not a valid source.

But that's me and my snobbery.

I just read an article on msn about a man who is trying to help a family who bought his stolen laptop (unknowingly, they say, to send with their son to college) to recover the $900 they spent on it. I would like to know why they bought it from a dude on the street when one can buy a laptop new, in a store, with a warranty for less than that.

eta: I am so going to see Nemo in 3D - that movies makes me cry, but I love it. Lion King too. What's up with that?
Team Wash and Go!
Okay so now I'm waking up at 6am and I still can't get to do everything that I need done.

Proof that there just isn't enough time in the day.

Somethings got to give.
