They're like gazpacho. I really love them. They're really refreshing. I can't decide if I like savory or dessert ones more.
It's not that much different than a smoothie, except lighter and less sweet.

Now I want some of the chilled corn soup from one place I worked. It was so good! I would often take shots of it. We served with a crab and avocado salad and chive batons. The creamy avocado went great with the thin, sweet corn broth.

I'm not feeling like tiramisu.

Definitely leaning toward berry Charlotte Russe or summer pudding and that cantaloupe sponge cake. I hate that I need to go back for more cream!

Friday night randomness:

watching the original Star Wars and while most of the special effects have held up, i have to admit that the aliens (with the exception of Chewbacca) have not - thanks to years of Star Trek tv series and movies and the advances in makeup!

is that William Levy in the new M&Ms commercial???

i am drinking Sweet Carolina Sweet Tea raspberry-infused vodka (from White Rock Distillers in Maine). even cut 50% with club soda, it still has a KICK to it because it's 35% alcohol!



if anyone wonders if i'm going to be drunk-posting later tonight, i hate to disappoint you... but i'm no longer in my 30s like i was when i joined this site all those years ago!

nope! this middle-aged woman will fall asleep LONG before that happens!

Prosciutto sounds so, so good right now.

I ate prosciutto daily last summer... LIke obscene amounts. I miss it. Actually, full disclosure, I think it was Jambon de Bayonne. But either way. Delicious.

I'd eat prosciutto and melon in an instant.

Yeah, plus we were super close to Bayonne!

The mom used to make sandwiches with it... By spreading like 5 tablespoons of butter (sometimes some delish sea salt butter) on close to a whole baguette for each of us. Or, if she was feeling fancy, she'd spread camembert on it instead.

I wonder why I gained so much weight while I was there.

there's one in Canton, Michigan (a suburb at the west side of Detroit)! and it's not far from the Detroit airport.

That's pretty much how I like my charcuterie sandwiches. Crusty bread, butter, meat. When I get to make charcuterie boards at jobs I often end up making this. I particularly liked butifarra on buttered baguettes. The Iberico and Bellota seemed too rich to bother with butter.
