EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW my mother. She ruins the looks and taste of all pancakes and biscuits with that mess, and sometimes puts it on ham, which I am glad I do not eat. Her whole side of the family likes that mess.

Phew that was a visceral response. That is my response when I am at her house and my mom pulls that doggone bottle down. Yuck.

That is my reaction with maple syrup. I can't.

I found a DVD set of all FOUR Tremors movies in the $5 bin at Walmart.

Yes I bought it, and yes I'm watching it now.

I LOVE this movie. I know its stupid. I get made fun of all the time. Tremors is my favorite movie and I'm not embarrassed.

Today at work I found out that drug abusers get 20min appointments with a doctor or nurse when the rest of us get an average of 7 mins. No wonder it takes multiple appointments to find out what's up sometimes.

Also all the stress I've been experiencing this week has really f'ed up my tmj.

Sorry I can't send you some of the winter weather we've had yesterday and today. Blustery, gray, drizzly. This is probably the coldest summer I've experienced yet. Yet the rest of the state is on fire--literally and figuratively.

Matches my mood...both the fire AND the gray drizzle--mostly the gray drizzle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've had a relatively crappy 1st world life. But the absolute worst part of my life has been raising an unhappy child into an unhappy adult. I don't mean unhappy because he didn't get "stuff" he wanted. I mean unhappy because he is "doomed" to be short-statured like his father. Nothing I did to try to prepare him for life as a short guy has helped because the world has unapologetically let him know that it has no love for short guys. He never lives up to his potential and is never truly happy. He has the worst self-esteem despite being otherwise very attractive, healthy, smart, with a great physique and lots of friends. I've tried to provide him with examples of successful, seemingly happy short-statured men...tried to highlight the positives in his life. But, all it took was for one of his crushes years ago to say to him..."if only you were taller...." He's an adult now, and he recognizes all of my platitudes and advice for what they are--well-intentioned but useless, because the world always sees his stature first.
I've suggested therapy and working on the things about himself that he does have the ability to change...but he's not receptive. Yes, as an adult now, he's responsible for his own emotional well-being, but as a mom, I can't just turn a blind eye to it--especially since he still lives with me. I can't turn off the ache in my heart when he talks about how much he hates being short.
Sometimes I wonder if I made the wrong decision.
Just so much unhappiness in our little family right now.
Aw, crap, and now the clouds are dissipating....
^^ Sorry he is unhappy with his stature. I have no advice but I do know this - there are fantastic, wonderful women out there who prefer and love non-tall men. And I am one of them. : )
