oh my goodness I just realized that this was my last year to be told that there was some terrible mix-up, and for me to get my Hogwarts letter.

Hogwarts started yesterday
made up of 98.822% silliness!!

Thank you, Saria. I think I'm on my way there, seeing as I now have a very close friend nearby! She's not a come-cry-on-my-shoulder friend, but I think that's a good thing, since I cry ENOUGH, dammit, and she is a friend I can be totally open with. Plus, the two of us are masters of escapist entertainment. We're going to go practically move into Barnes & Noble on Thursday.

BOARD, I'M GONNA NEED YOU TO LET ME LIKE POSTS AGAIN, THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. I MUST CLICK "LIKE" OR A LEGITIMATE FIRE WILL START IN MY BRAIN.

Curlyminx, HOORAY for your job and committing to therapy and THE CUTENESS OMG!!!

...I didn't get a call back about my therapy situation and didn't call them once it became clear they weren't getting back to me, which is bad, but I am going to follow your example and not just give up again. I'm going to do good things, dammit.

One good thing: Someone finally clued me in about the specifics of the issues with my car - other than just, like, it's a really, really old car and it just pretty much sat here while I was away at school and then while I was nowhere. I just basically knew *things* were wrong inside this mysterious metal beast and I felt bad because my grandpa didn't give it to me so I could let it sit and rust and fall apart. Knowing what at least some of these *things* are has transformed the car from just another nebulous problem I didn't know how to fix to a problem I can take specific steps to address. It's possible that too much is wrong, but it's also possible that it's not, and figuring that out involves active, focused tasks that have rules governed by practicality and not another person's failed attempt to prove they can "fix" me. This is about me fixing something else, something that, if all goes well, could really take the edge off of my feeling of being trapped. If nothing else, I'll be doing something other than hating on myself for awhile, which is always a good thing.

If my life were a TV show (oh god it would be like Season 6 of Buffy but without the supernatural excuses D: ), maybe someone would start an argument on the internet saying it's out of character for my recovery arc to involve car repair. But I think that when they saw me deciding which keychain I would switch with the one my grandma put on the key, showing hints of the joy I showed in previous seasons when I got to personalize things, along with the imagine spot of me putting the key in the ignition and how pleased I was with myself that I figured out I could hang this other one I like from the rearview mirror once it's reattached, they would recant.

...This is where my brain goes. This is what it does. I submit it to you as evidence that sleep is a thing that should happen.

That hug does sort of look like a curly head. OMG, we're MADE OF HUGS.

This. Makes. Sense.

Okay, going now.
OMG, LOOK!!

...It's a siggie.

Okay, I lied. But I had a good reason for it! ...Okay, no, but it was a reason. I had to see what I was made of, right??

When I plugged in only my first name, it said I'm made of iron, cherries, and desperation. With a dash of Mother Russia.

THIS IS EERILY APT. Like, I seriously don't need to try to make these apply. You guys, it knows my heritage. It's also too into my sex life. Nosy.

When it had my full name to deal with, it said I'm made of energy, acid, and reclusive. With a dash of GAME OVER.

This...also way too apt and also NO THANK YOU to that last part. Game RESTARTING, thankyouverymuch.

Clearly, my screenname wins:

A dash of T-REX, y'all.

In conclusion, while you are in part defined by the identities chosen for you, it is the identity that you choose for yourself that will truly bring you comfort.

Wait, did I just

Blame it on the moonlight, y'all. It is clearly time for bed.

I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

Seriously. Hate it. I don't let people wear shoes in the house, so its not outside grime, but I do have kids. There are sticky spots.

In fact, I could probably use to clean my whole house. Its clean enough. Just not Cori-Clean. I haven't felt up to it lately. Maybe this week I'll motivate.
