I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
SSS is pretty good. They even recommend using it on pets and curtains and such to keep bugs away (you'd have to look up the exact recipe).

I wiped my outdoor cat down with a bit that was on my hands and he had no ticks this year. None. Usually we pull 5 or 6 off of him a day.

I like the smell of SSS. Its a little pine-y. I used to sell Avon so I used it a lot, but I went too long w/o ordering and lost my seller card I have to see if I can get it back.

Tea tree oil. I dab some on my ankles, scalp, behind my ears - on my kids too - if we're gonna be in buggy areas.

I used to be a mosquito magnet. And my bites would turn into welts. My youngest seems to have inherited that from me.

I'm trying Tea Tree Oil because I already have some, and then pure poison Deet next year.

Honestly, this is freaking ridiculous. One just landed on me for a second and although I caught it right away, I still have a red, itchy welt.

I worry about nynaeve and others in Texas, dealing with West Nile.

We're having EEE and West Nile issues around here.

My ex has a swamp behind his parents house. You think he bug sprays the kids? No. That's entirely too much responsible parenting.

A couple of weeks ago my 5 year old came home with 12 bites.

Well obviously this theory doesn't apply to movie sequences!

Then again, in this case the ones created after were prequels, so technically they would have happened 'before'.

This is why religion can be so complicated.

Someone once told me spraying mouthwash on yourself was a suitable substitute for bug spray.

I have no idea if it works, but it sounds incredibly sticky and annoying.

ETA: OH, that's why. Just googled it... You're not supposed to spray it on yourself, but rather around you. Like around your picnic blanket. It still doesn't sound helpful.

I settled on the place I go to. It is nothing special but it is reasonably priced and I don't ask for anything complicated. I went to a place in New Haven which was farther away and more expensive who dealt with curly hair but was unimpressed with my experience there.

Especially those Star Wars based ones. They keep getting revised. I mean, it used to be that Han could shoot first, but now it's not allowed!

My "French Mom" sent me a French dessert cookbook. I want to make all of the things.

First order of business: get a kitchen scale.

Then: locate creme de marron.

Criminy, I was so busy and frazzled today I forgot to put in my tampon. I went to the bathroom for that purpose. I took a tampon *out*. But neglected to replace it...
