They were supposed to be getting sugar and coffee creamer. They were instead in the asian foods aisle getting *shudder* noodle bowls. The crazy man loves Nongshim hot & spicy.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Liberal Arts is, of course, number 7.
It's not MY fault I'm bad at things that aren't within the realm of liberal arts! If I could've done engineering like literally every other person I know, I would've, obviously!

Parade's End, drama or comedy? I can't decide. It doesn't compare to Downtown Abbey

It's 5:16. I should probably eat sometime today
I want to try contouring with my makeup
I have hardwood in every room of my house (besides the bathroom). I love my floors, but I'm thinking about getting carpet tiles before winter gets here

I miss hardwoods, it was really the only good thing about our house in CT.
I don't want to go get a new ID and have my picture taken. Why the flip is the military ID only good for a year now? When the hell did they start that nonsense and I am just now noticing.
I'm clueless for dinner. I spend a fair amount of time perusing recipes and reading about food yet I can never come up with what to make. What is wrong with me in that respect?
My hair is looking so much better now that it's calmed down a few days after my cut. I'm thankful to be able to wear my bangs down if I want to!
I'm hoping everyone had a good weekend. Scrills, I hope you feel better soon and you need to eat or you won't get better as quickly. /pretendmom

I love hardwood. I hope I never have carpet again. Unless they're small enough to put in my washing machine.

Spring, when in doubt think of season. Tomatoes for example give me tons of ideas. A tomato tart, which can be done a million different ways. Tomato pie. Tomato soup. Or cheesy grits with spicy, tomatoey shrimp. Tomato risotto. Provençal tomatoes with roast chicken and a green beans salad (with a vinaigrette with lemon zest and dill for example).
Pears are in season here now. Pork chops with pear sauce call out to me. Or breakfast for dinner and a big puffy baked pear pancake with syrup along with eggs and sausage also sounds good.
Grapes --- sausages with roasted grapes in a sweet and sour sauce over polenta.
Peppers: a whole miche cut in half, hollowed out, and stuffed with cold cuts of choice, roasted peppers, tomatoes, maybe some avocado, fresh mozzarella, and a zingy vinaigrette as the sauce on the bread.
Or ignoring the seasons, get yourself some cheese and charcuterie and some bread and call it dinner. Always hits the spot.

The last hour at work was super suck. We must be the only medical office who doesn't take appointments which then allows 15+ patients to come in after 5 and bog us down. I hate people today. I need a drink.

New pots and pans waiting for me when I got home. Yay! Don't know what to cook first. My freezer is already full. But maybe I can shove some chicken cacciatore in there.

I know I'm back at university when I let people off the hook because I'm tired of calling people out on their ****. I should go take a nap.

Our power is out. We kept looking at each other when the garage door would not open. LOL. We have no idea why.

Ok, this made me say "aweeeee", so carry on. lol
Whew, all fabulous ideas! I do try and think in terms of cooking in season now that I'm more aware about what we eat. And oh my word you would NOT believe the amount of tomatoes I have right now. Our landlady dropped off a box of tomatoes this morning on top of what I've already got so thanks for all those ideas! I've never had grapes with anything savory other than in chicken salad and grapes are so incredibly good right now I can't stop snacking on them.
I really wish Mr. Spring would go for a meal like that last idea, but I'm pretty sure he'd be wondering where dinner was after the appetizer. If I were only feeding me I'd probably do that more often than was good for me.

thank you for this idea.
i had some ciabatta bread from the Italian bakery down the road and sliced it, added some unsalted butter then put thin sliced black-forest ham on, topped with St-Antoine cheese (an herbed cheddar type from Quebec), sliced tomato and fresh basil leaves.
then i crushed it in my sandwich press until the cheese was all melty-goodness and washed it down with a glass of raspberry beer!
