OBB, that's what I'm hearing. The woman is Vietnamese, too. I know there's different accents and dialects, so maybe you're hearing it differently, but they both sound pretty much the same to me.

no dialect or accents. the way it is pronounced in your video is for non-Viets. its hard for them so we simpified it. the correct way is in the video below. its pronounced with a question at the end. phở
some pronounce banh mi like bang me but it doesnt make it correct

I feel so blah and lazy. After volunteering this morning at a senior center, I'm spending the rest of the day in pajamas.

How is it lazy if you volunteered this morning? I consider it a well earned rest.

I heard like a little pause in the OBB version.
ETA: How is it the Vietnamese restaurants around here when I was growing up (80s) never had pho? Now it's quite a common dish. Weird.

OBB's version sounded like "fuh-uh" to me, like he had a little stutter.

Someone is torturing cats, the local vet had a cat come in that have been so badly beaten she originally thought it was hit by a car and several cats that have been attacked and had an object forced up their rectum.
Its all happening literally round the corner from me.
Obviously there is some very sick person around and more than just being worried about mine and my neighbours kitties, this is clearly someone who needs serious help.

I've never heard anyone say bang me.
I'm not arguing with you, but I've always heard it like she pronounces from other Vietnamese people.
And I've had Vietnamese people say that northern and southern pronunciation sound somewhat different. Like how southerners here pronounce "aunt"versus northeners, or how caramel gets pronounced.

Of course I had to listen to all of those like 10 times. Even tho I don't know what most of them are, have never been to a Vietnamese restaurant and even if I ever get a chance to I will do what always I do in any kind of restaurant where I don't know how to pronounce things - I point.

Also, I find it kind of funny how much more straightforward Chinese terms are to pronounce, since I've always heard that Chinese is the most difficult. I mean, I believe it, but just in terms of pronouncing, it seems a lot less tricky to me.

i just got back from the grocery store, springy (oh, okay, it was an hour ago), otherwise i'd happily go with you!
i got all kinds of fun and fresh things - this city is in the major farming district in this province: sweet peppers in 5 colours, a whole pineapple (obviously NOT local - it was on sale), local strawberries (one of the growers on the east side of town does ever-bearing), blackberries, onions, garlic, romaine, field tomatoes, cucumbers and radicchio!
and the fun stuff: goldfish crackers (i really like them ), vanilla yogurt, ready-made souvlaki, a dozen whole wheat bagels, Frutopia (the frozen kind - to make sangria), a tiny 2-serving red velvet cake, perogies, full-fat sour cream and "paillot de chevre" goat cheese!
i am nibbling on some goldfish along with a glass of Hops & Robbers India Pale Ale from Double Trouble Brewing Co. in Guelph. it's marketed as a "strong beer" at 5.7% alcohol, but i think it's too heavy on the hops for my taste.
anyone want to drop by for dinner?

Maybe, lol. You have a talky kitty too. I worry he's bored or afraid that I'll leave him. If I ever move, I think he'd like a buddy.

I just took my mom and one of her friends. It was fun.
Shopping at TJs on a Saturday is much different than working there on a Saturday. I don't know how customers navigate the place!
