My shoes for the bridal party I'm in in three weeks just came! She let us get our own as long as they were nude and strappy.

5.5-inch heels! I seriously feel like I'm walking on stilts (I'm pretty good with walking in heels and can walk miles in the city with them...bad for my feet and the shoe, I know...)

The bridesmaid dress is actually supercute and flattering, so I'm excited to put it all together. The bride is always saying she wishes her fiance had more options in his friends to set me up with, so sadly I won't have anybody there to impress, but I'm sure there will be a really cute, creative bartender at the wedding, right???? Right?

The idea of wanting to add 5.5 inches to my height is completely foreign to me. I'm 5'11" so the last thing I need is to be taller.

I never wear heels more than 3 inches and I can barely walk in those because I do it so infrequently.

Heels can continue to be in style, though. Since they make all of the pants long enough for average height people to wear huge heels, I can finally buy pants in stores.

5.5 inch heels?? My eyes hurt reading that let alone my poor feet.

Do we get to see a picture of the shoes? And then of you on the wedding day?

I'm 5'0 I'm generally fine with my height, but self-conscious of my legs so I like wearing big shoes.

5.5 inch heels?!

I'm not wearing anything but slippers and sneakers today just to offset the thought of the torture your feet are going to go through.

Yeah, that seems extreme. Four inches is about as high as I can go, and that's pushing it.
Also, heels that high often look rather stripper-ish.

I don't know why I thought they were 5.5...they're "only" 5-inch.

And Jessica Simpson. Shhhhhhh.

Pretty. Those don't look that high. My ankles still hurt looking at them.

I woke up this morning, looking like my 15-year-old self... Pimples all over the place.

And the worst part is that my summer foundation (a powder foundation) is dwindling, and my fall/winter foundation (liquid, and a lighter color) is still too light and makes me look like a ghost.

So there's basically no chance of covering it up at all today.

Whatever. Did I say anything about hers? No, I said that I find a lot of really high heels stripper-ish. I'm sure CIBC's heels are fabulous. CIBC, no offense intended and I'm sorry if you at all thought I was referring to your specific shoes.

Well, it's hard to judge your cousin's hotness, but he's objectively good looking and is very buff, but still. That attitude is so gross. It's kinda awful when' you realize you're related by blood to such a d-bag.

Thank God being a loser isn't genetic, BC I'd be in trouble.

Also, those are cute, CIBC! I hope for the effort it will take to walk in them (and dance?) you find that hot bartender who is smitten with you at first glance.

Same here. I'm 5'8. I don't need to be any taller either. The only heels I'll wear are kitten ones. 5.5 inch heels would be torture devices on my feet.

I died laughing when in the discussion about maternity leave that I posted part from of course ---of course--- someone had to point out how not all pro-birth people are like that. You could change "pro-birth" to "white" and it would be the typical offended comment that you get from a lot of people when white privilege is discussed.

If anyone is going to Trader Joe's today, could you pick me up a bottle of lavender body oil? Oh, and some of that salad springy was eating.

Thanks.

You're out of luck. It's a West Coast salad.
