i paid $33 for a three month supply of my HRT, two different medications. and i have the bio-identicals, which cost 3 times as much as the synthetic stuff. if i didn't have prescription coverage through work, it would still only come out to $100 per month.

would you like me to adopt you, jeepy?

I'm available too!

I prefer to keep bacon out of my grilled cheese, but y'all know I'm not bacon-obsessed.
I've never had a grilled cheese sandwich, but that one looks delicious.

@Ninja

There is a chance the raccoon is too big for the trap so we are on to Plan E (I think). Putting grease on the downspouts. This will allow him to get down but not back up. This will also confirm if he is climbing the spouts. Once he is done, we will install the porcupine wire.

Fingers crossed...

Just had a drug pre screening for my new job.

I have never used an illegal drug in my life but I'm still paranoid about it for some reason.

Really, I think I just invent reasons to worry.

My boss pays for my insurance and it's considered a good policy. It's just a high deductible because at my age the costs get super high with a low deductible. I only take 2 prescriptions - neither are covered. I've been a pretty healthy person most of my life luckily. But at some point everyone gets something that requires tests or surgery. And it can really ruin a person quickly. I'm still in debt from having 2 surgeries on my hand in the space of a year. If I have to have surgery this year, it will have to go on a credit card and will take years to pay off. If people would have listened to Hillary, things would probably be better today. blah blah blah.
But anyway, back to unicorns. Or better yet, toasted cheese sandwiches. If anyone wants to join me at my favorite old creepy hotel, we can get sandwiches there today!
Riverside Inn
A rainy day deserves a hot lunch! Stop by and try one of these delicious specials:
Hot Roast beef on Texas Toast with Loaded Mashed Potatoes and Corn ~ $9
Lasagna with Side Salad ~ $8
Grilled Cheese with Chili~ $7
Soups du Jour: Clam Chowder and Chili

I just dropped my booger-boo off at the vet. Oh my word y'all, leaving him then coming into this empty house is killing me. It may be 6:30 before I can pick him up and I'm so scared something will go wrong with anesthesia. And I can't even BEGIN to discuss what this will cost. They showed me a paper with the low estimate and the high estimate depending on what they find and OH MY GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY. Redonkulous. But he's got to have it done.

Jeep, count me in. I'll go for the hot roast beef though, sounds good.

It's time for kitchen story fun-time again! Now with pictures!
The other day I sent the guy I've been training to wash pea greens. Simple task, yes?
I'm putting a third pan of them away the other day when I see dirt on them. Look through them, more dirt.
So yesterday I re-washed all of them.
Here's the pan of water after washing.

Attachment 24642

Here's a new pan of water after a second washing:

Attachment 24643

But hey, maybe he thought they were clean and just missed the obvious dirt on them, right? Oh, but it gets better. For by now I'm ready to get the greens in the spinner and what do I find? Yup, you guessed it, pea green scraps. So, first, he didn't clean the spinner after using it. But more importantly, aside from that, the spinner is full and I mean full of dirt. I didn't take a photo of the removable spinning bowl, but here's a photo of the rest of the spinner:

Attachment 24644

Towels used to clean spinner:

Attachment 24645

Now you tell me how if you see the spinner, a tool for getting water out of greens ---not for removing dirt--- full of dirt from the greens you washed, you proceed to spin said greens. Tell me how you think these are okay to use. Please tell me, because I simply can't work my brain around that. Washing greens isn't some unnecessary formality that you do to get over with, it's to make sure your greens are clean of any dirt, so explain to me how you proceed to use greens that you can clearly see are full of dirt!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and New Petie just need a small loft above the garage. Close to the gardening tools since I will be your landscaper/gardener. : )

My second Pure Barre class is done. I didn't want to puke this time, so that's an improvement.
