My girls and my husband are out and my little one is sleeping. This is so rare- a quiet house.

(Yes I know I should be cleaning and doing all the stuff I complain I can never get done because someone is always underfoot, but, wow, this is nice.)

Hmmm, 36 degrees tonight... I think it's time to turn on my gas fire place and let it burn off some dust.

I also think its the perfect time for rum.

My bfs father is getting married in Dec and asked him to be the best man. Too cute!

We are planning to go, it'll be the first time I meet his dad and go to FL! Now, I just need to ask my boss for some time off.

This soreness is unusual. Do I need to change chairs?

What is this bean shade? Only in American culture are beans "poor people food". This makes me think of discussions on western privilege, and how you can see it in the way poor people in a lot of other countries eat versus how poor people in the US eat.
And I'm posting this here because I'm not looking to derail that other thread with my side thoughts.

so please, the next time you describe a human penis in your fanfiction as being “only 12 inches long”

just look at your goddamn hand and remember that that “only 12 inches” is 2.75 INCHES LONGER THAN YOUR ENTIRE ****ING FOREARM WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU

Personally, pinto's and great northern are the only ones I can't take. I love kidney, black beans, black eyes peas, etc. They were not as readily available in my youth, or were a special occasion/dish bean. Pinto's make me think of harder times when I saw my parents dealing with a great deal of stress, and I ate more than any one person should in 3 lifetimes. They taste of melancholy.

Great Northerns just make my stomach hurt.

I was talking about having my tubes tied and was told that no doctor would do it because there is no medical reason to. WTF? I want my tubes tied so no ****ing accident will happen....although TBH I think I really do have that area covered.

Most doctors here prefer that women have at least 3 babies before they will discuss having their tubes tied. At least that's what I've been told by my female friends who requested it after their first child.

I'm getting so sleepy and I really need to stay up as late as I possibly can.

kayb - I had my tubes ties when I was in my mid-twenties. It took a bit of discussion with my regular doctor and the surgeon but it was what I wanted so what could they say? I would have just kept looking til a found a doc to do it. Best thing I ever did.

I wonder if things have changed at all now that we have a female OBGYN's. We only had 2 males, that came here in the 60's from other countries. They were both excellent doctors, and still know "their babies" when they see you in the store, but they were old school. A woman did not have her tubes tied until she had produced a liter. Another male doctor, who started his practice in the 80's, felt the same. No if's ands or buts.

1 & 2 have retired, 3 moved his practice to another county and we now have 2 female doctors. All my friends who were declined went to the males.

I had to wait until I was 25 before I could have my tubes tied. I was married and had 1 child at 21 and the doctor refused to tie them because he said I was too young. So I waited until I was 25, had my tubes tied, discovered I really needed a hysterectomy. I think they might have found stuff a lot sooner if I'd been able to have them tied when I wanted them. That's not really the point though...sometimes you just know. I knew I only wanted one child and I have never regretted it or changed my mind.
