Thanks!

Running away as a pick-up line is glorious.

I think I'd go Sokka style with "so, you wanna maybe do an activity together?".

w_s, if I'm being totally honest, that's my most used pick-up line as well! Lol or "Oh man, he's so cute. I'D BETTER NEVER LOOK AT HIM AND IGNORE HIM FOR ALL ETERNITY!" But, if I ever did NOT do that, I'd totally use the cheese one instead.

I didn't even realize how much this bothered me until now.

Oh, and the actual reason why I came to this thread: I had a dream last night that I was marrying the ex. The whole time I was going along with it, for some reason, but I was really thinking "WHY is everyone letting this happen? THIS GUY IS THE WORST! Doesn't my family love me?!?!"

It was a legit nightmare. I seriously breathed a huge sigh of relief when I woke up.

So apparently there is like one internet/cyber cafe in Boston. That's why a search just gives me hipster havens selling expensive coffee with free wi-fi. This place. There are three places within less than a ten-minute walking distance from my house where I can use a computer and print. This place.
I printed my return forms from Amazon at work using my friend's computer in the office, but 6PM mails return forms through email and that access is blocked for Seaport employees.

THAT IS A HORRIFYING DREAM!

My version of that is more like "look this way, look this way, oh my god he just looked, quick, I have to look away", which as you can imagine is real successful.

Of course, I've not run into any man who caused this illogical reaction in ages.

I may be strange but I find cemetaries serene. What you decribed, I wish i was there. Sounds so beautiful.

I have always loved cemeteries. I used to take walks in them growing up. I find them very calming as well.

Oyin sent me what are apparently bubbles (like the kind you used to blow as a kid) and candy with my order. Cute! Also, I just read the bit about how their packing peanuts are cornstarch-based and indeed went to test one by putting it under my faucet. Cool! I think I'm gonna put the rest in the bathtub just to watch them melt. I am a simple child, ofc.

My husband just discovered that show, and consequently there are now about 15 episodes on my Tivo.

actually, ma petite chérie, if you saw the way some guys *whine* on internet dating forums, you'd see that this is not the case.

of course, in my experience, the ones that do this have some "expectation" that women will recognize that they are Nice Guys, rather than genuine article nice guys!

To the tune of "Oh, Christmas Tree":

"Oh menstrual cramps, oh pms,
You made me crazy, all this week;
But now I'm calm, I've taken drugs,
And things are looking up for me.

The poodle soon will visit here,
Although I know she'll act real queer,
I'll pet her curls, and squeeze her nose,
'Cause she's my silly poodle dear."

I spend all of my time at work making very tiny adjustments to dishwasher detergent powder, in an effort to make one that doesn't turn aluminum funny colors.

Aluminum is perfectly clean when it turns these funny colors, but it "looks funny", so we have to spend a ton of time and money developing one that makes it look shiny. And then charge more for it, because it requires expensive ingredients for an effect which is purely cosmetic.

The world would be better if everyone understood science.
