So eye rollingly, nauseatingly typical. We females must be ready at all times to be ogled for man's pleasure.

"A young African American girl was set on fire by 3 white men while walking in the park this morning. Authorities are reporting this as a HATE crime. CNN, Fox News, andmsnbc, The Huffington Post, AOL News have yet to report the story."

What a shocker.:/

I'm so unprepared for this interview this afternoon. The VP and my supervisor are interviewing for the replacement for our director who left last month and they asked me to sit in, since I'm the person with next highest title in the department right now. Initially, the VP had set up the interview for today or tomorrow, since she wasn't sure which day worked best for the person we're interviewing. I'm not wearing a suit and my hair is in a wash and go. If I had been told that the interview was definitely for today, I'd have picked more corporate attire to wear and worn my hair in a stretched style.

Here's the kicker-I already know the person we're interviewing. I worked with her at my last job. She could be a good fit for us, but it'll depend how she does during the interview. It's a very small world indeed.

Obviously! We're allowed to do anything a man can do, as long as we wear skimpy clothing, and are willing to 'service' our men at the end of the day.

Actually, even better is when men claim women being able to be "sexy" is a form of empowerment when it's really all about the male gaze.
Yeah, it would be empowering, if it were a real choice for all women and they didn't get shamed on top of it all, but that's mostly not the case.

I don't find wearing a pet-sized body bag particularly empowering. If you hadn't captioned that picture, I would've had no idea that's what it was supposed to be.

And exactly, Saria. It's not empowering if you get slut-shamed.

^Reason #568 why I refuse to buy a lot of costumes geared to women. They're either too short, too tight or too revealing for my taste. I doubt I'll even be in costume this year.

My costume will be jeans and a t-shirt. I'm going as a soccer mom. Maybe I'll go wild and wear my Wonder Woman t-shirt this year.

That's my costume, but its longer on me, and i lack boobage. I'm always wearing blue and black striped tights and ankle length boots. I can unsexy-fy anything!

My dad hates the way holloween costumes are made for women. When we went into a halloween store a few years again, and was appalled. "Wth? Why dont they just go naked? You and are sister is not wearing any of those."

I'm most likely being nothing. Maybe a cat. I have cat ears.

^^^^^^

I like that. For a woman's costume, it's actually sort of modest! Tights would be really cute with it, too.

Here's a funny costume fact. They make a plus-size Olive Oyl costume, but not a plus-size Princess Fiona one.

I will often go out in regular clothes and if people ask what my costume is I just tell them I am scary enough the way I am.

I took a trip to the Halloween store with my kids over the weekend and found only a crayon and a nun costume as an appropriate choice. Being from the Northeast I don't see those provocative costumes as practical either. I would freeze my exposed tail off!

Thelio I like that costume!
