exactly!!! i know they feel they have a responsibility - and there are posters all over the waiting room that state in BIG letters "we screen every woman over the age of 12 for abuse" - but i've only used the emergency services there 4 times previously in the 7 years i've lived here. twice after 48 hour periods where i couldn't stop throwing up, once for a leg swelled up by an insect bite and once for a serious cut on my foot. that hardly makes me a candidate for screening....
oy vay!
the whole time she was asking me questions, i tried to remind myself that it's good they do these things.

Turtles, my daughter is still talking about how the furby she had came to life in the middle of the night, with no batteries in it! Every time she sees the commercial she shudders.

 That Furby!
I got to the apartment the other night and weirdly I didn't really detect any stench, but then when I stepped in it reeked of skunk. Obviously my friend doesn't smoke that ****, so that's how deeply it penetrated that I could barely stand to be in this apartment. There's no way I would have been able to tolerate that living situation I was looking into with someone who was a pot smoker.

It's only in the back stairwell, so it's likely one of those folks. They also leave the back door open (it's supposed to be locked at all times). I've only been here a week technically and three days officially, but looks like I'm going to have to report some mess already.
It took me a while to figure out it was weed. And I'm shocked...I dated someone who smoked a lot of weed, and I thought the smell of this particular variety was ingrained in my memory. Guess not.

I hate my body.
Mostly because right now I hate the hip I injured hauling pallets from the raw material room to the wash bay. I think I pulled a muscle. In fact, I sure as hell hope I did, because I can't put ANY weight on it at all.
Yes, I totally earn my 'sister in klutztitude' title.
