I'm kinda ticked off. In September I mentioned to my crush that I needed a tutor, in October he introduced me to someone willing to tutor me (y'all know this already). Now today I hear from my tutor that someone else heard he was tutoring me and asked to join. WTF? I'm all for sharing knowledge and all, but no. My brain is hella thick when it come to math, I want one on one tutoring which is why I wet out of my way to find a tutor. You do not get to bogart my tutor! Get you own.

Congrats on the weight loss!

And hey, he's your boyfriend. You don't have to worry about us lusting over him.

A while back I read some stuff about cultural appropriation through food, and I mostly agreed even if I thought some of the comments went a bit too far.

http://wishyouweremegan.tumblr.com/p...lets-talk-food

There's also this excellent article by Francis Lam:

http://www.gilttaste.com/stories/536...cultures-foods

The reason this popped into my head again was reading this interview:

http://newyork.seriouseats.com/2012/...eld-ramen.html

I don't know, that interview just rubs me all kinds of wrong. White dude goes to Japan, becomes hugely successful selling to Japanese people, then comes to the US and talks smack about how much more special his white guy ramen is than anyone else's? And there's just something really kind of offensive to me about it, but it's hard to pinpoint because of course he very well might just be making the most spectacular ramen. I think it's the trashing of everyone else. This is a part of people's culture, not just an interest, and being a white dude talking about how you do it better just leaves such a bad taste in my mouth.

I believe it!
I will not drive country roads in MS at night if I can avoid it. There is a very long federal parkway that runs from Nashville, TN to Natchez, MS. Many black people who know better sometimes use that road for long distances (and of course the interstate highways) because it's federal and if someone messes with you on that road it's much bigger than getting harrassed on a state or local road.

Black people still just "disappear" and ish.

Kind of like the zombie apocalypse, but everyday of your life when you live there. My parents still give "how to be respectful to white folks" lessons to us. smh

HOWEVER things are really slowly changing....there's a reverse migration and I would guess in the next 50 years or so the southeast will not seem so intimidating for ethnic minorities.
I cant even lie, MS is scary in some parts. my family drove down for my graduation and got lost. they stop for directions from one person, an old white man. he took one look in the car of multiraces, and said, "i dont talk to you people." and walked away. My mom then called me to get the direction my dad had initially refused, cause you know men dont need direction.

Have I ranted about this already?! You CHOSE your presentation date. You KNEW about it from September, which means that you had over a month to prepare for your presentation. At this point it shouldn't feel rushed. It should feel finished.

****ing A! I changed my topics two weeks ago and I'm finished.

God damn post graduate students. (That includes me btw). I totally get why our lecturers complain about us.

I need a personal shopper

I bought brown rice and quinoa
chicken broth
a can of beans or was I supposed to get a bag?
I was disoriented even though I had a list.
Then half way thru I realized that I'm poor so I had to cut my list short.
I have frozen chicken already.

Wow, that's a long time, Juana!
My friend told me that people in Jersey still don't have power or are just getting it. So, I want to believe that the delay is because of the hurricane, especially seeing as how it's UPS ground. I wish I'd gotten tracking info, but I pretty much never do when I send something back, so I didn't do it.

I hate waiting for a service person to show up when it's a window of time appointment. The dread of the doorbell and Calvin spazzing then having to pretend I'm human and interacting with a stranger. Yuck.

I know, I have horrible problems.

And OH MY WORD a trailer for Breaking Dawn just came on and Edward said to Bella "You're so beautiful, we're the same temperature now." OMGLMFAOWTFBBQSAUCE It's killing me, I can't stop laughing at that line.

no she's not she has it all over her page. She's had it on their a while. She's even been posting stuff bashing romney like two weeks ago.

I have her on hide so I had to actively look at her page because I kept seeing her like people's obama statuses.

OR MAYBE IT'S a tactic because she's hoping that if she votes for him that it will some how jinx him and he'll lose.

Murrrturtles, make yourself a grain mix. Kind of like this:

http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives...in-recipe.html

Get plain yogurt and make a sauce for your chicken with it. Garlicky, lemony, a little spicy if you want.
And if you have anything like almonds or walnuts, they're good toasted and chopped on top.

As much as I dislike it I wouldn't be surprised if I have posted it before! I don't recall doing it recently though since it's been quite a while since I've had anyone here doing any work.

Scale of 1 to 10, how horrible is it that I just considered visiting another church this week because I saw two cute guys leaving the parking lot?
