Aww! They have Pete's Dragon on sale ($1.99 rental) on AIV. I have not seen that in so many years. Oh! And a Shirley Temple collection, Pollyanna, and my favorite version of Heidi. Crap! I will have to hold off because I would probably be the only one enjoying those.

I had to go back and look and now I must say... Speck, your hair does look great! And Saria, that is a super adorable suit.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Aaaaaaah, the Curljunkie page won't let me ship to anything but billing address!!!
My neighbor asked if I wanted to go to Macy's at midnight with her and I'm pretty sure I looked at her like she had sprouted another head.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Thanks, cailin! I'm sorry you missed out on dinner! The places I wanted were closed. I ended up getting something from Super 88, but not the stall I wanted. It was good, but I'm left craving.
Bill Murray's character in Groundhog Day sure is an *******.

No, I don't get out to Dorchester much except for Vietnamese runs when my friend wants in, too.

This --- words fail me:

It’s not Obama. Really, I doubt we’ll get any more major changes the next four years, Obamacare was likely it.

The problem, of course, is the culture. The American atmosphere is becoming dangerously toxic. 60 years ago, this race wouldn’t have been a problem. Romney and Ryan would have won without question. Back then, they were the American ideal- a highly successful businessman who was patriotic and an up-and-coming whiz-kid congressman with a history of accurate, detailed plans based on math. Both men hold their own beliefs very strongly to heart.

In the 50’s these men would be national heroes. Now? They’re described as “cartoony villains”. Why?

Because they’re successful.

Because they’re rich.

Because they have their values.

Because they’re white.

What used to be an ideal has become hated. It was people like Romney and Ryan who made this nation great. Hardworking men committed to what they believed in. Men who believed in free enterprise and individual responsibility.

Now? We’ve become a dull and lazy nation. Criticism of the military has become socially acceptable. We’re expected to love our enemies and apologize for killing them. The rich are no longer people we want to be, but someone who must suffer. Success is a sin. Entitlements are now valid. We’ve embraced false notions of egalitarianism as the new state religion.

That last one is particularly crucial to the worldwide suicide of the west. I talked to my mother about scheduling an appointment with a campus counselor to talk about my anxiety attack following the election. She was in favor of it, but I rejected it. I told her that if I went in there and said that as a white male I was worried about my future, they’d try to teach me to be “tolerant” and “accepting” and “respectful” and all that other nonsense. And I thought about it later, and I realized, if a black woman went in if Romney won, she’d be directed to support groups and ways to help her. It’s a bias. I can’t get help because the people who are helping me are in league with my persecutors. My university has a diversity center. A DIVERSITY AND EQUALITY CENTER. I’d drop out in protest, but I need this degree to move on with my life.

It’s not Obama. It’s the moronic values that got him elected. So brace yourself, white men of America. Brace yourself for an era of persecution and prejudice.
I felt a little queasy reading that.
OMG

My boyfriend talks about this all the time. He is a white, straight, christian, male. Sadly in this day and age they are more discriminated against than any other type of person. It’s too bad that what we are striving for is really just forming a different prejudice.
Guys, it's so hard!!!
Amneris! PM me! I need some references for good cases on refugee law.
I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

JB = Joe Biden

Someone STOP ME. I can't stay out of the rolls I made, they're so darn fluffy and light and scrumptious. Between that and the sweet potato casserole there is no way my jeans will fit me tomorrow.

I only try to impress JP.

James Phillip. Mr. Speckla...
I suppose I should start Christmas shopping. I'm just soooo uninspired this year. It just seems like too much work.

Turtles: omg please don't put that in your moo moo

Nej: too late... moo moo has been infiltrated.
Still no Christmas shopping over here.

I might have to work 4-8 on Sunday. It's my weekend off but some precious little snowflake has had a toe nail removed and can't do anything. This nail was removed a month ago. She's allowed to do what ever she wants. I'd say it was beyond a joke but that line was crossed waaaaay back.

I am not happy. I said I had plans but was essentially bullied into agreeing to cover the shift if she doesn't turn up for her Saturday shift. So that's two days where other people are being messed about because of her.

Also, I really don't agree with my work place being open on Christmas Day. And I point blank refuse to work it.

Either early in the morning (not 4am) or late at night (not 12am) or shop online and have everything delivered to the door. Take a deep breath, go and treat yourself to a coffee and doughnut, and make a list of things you want to buy. Separate it into things you can buy locally and online. See? You've got it half way done! Then decide what you can buy now or wait until next month.
I just bought a beautiful full length wool (let me add wool blend, it is nicely lined and not itchy at all) dress coat, with a hood, that I have had my eye on for one year. It was $250 and I got 75% off. Happy dance!!
