SIB, you obviously have to move from such an uncivilized hellhole.

Knot Today needs to be decent on my hair, y'all. I got it for the first time now that I'm basically out of WSHP and their company is in limbo. Curl Junkie Thanksgiving sale stash on the way just in case.
I had to laugh at that 8-oz bottle of Knot Today. So that's like 4 washes then, huh?

SARIA!!!!!!

I must thank you, I made one of the mac n cheese recipes you've posted about. The idiot/fool proof one and it's good! It doesn't have that strong starchy taste that most recipes have because those use flour. I do wish it came out a tad creamier but it's awesome none the less.

Finally, a recipe I like!
I still want to try a few other ones that you've posted.

Yay! If you want it creamier, you can always switch it up and use cream or half-n-half!

So I would replace the evaporated milk with heavy cream?

Yes! The authors basically wanted a classic, light mac and cheese, so they use evaporated milk because the lack of water in it makes it creamier than regular milk and prevents curdling, but it's still light. If you want a creamier, more substantial recipe, though, you can certainly use cream.

That's not fair. While the all knowing S knows exactly which recipe this is, others, okay me, don't. Please share.

Ok, thanks Saria, I will try cream next time.

Rural, here's the recipe: Ideas in Food's Macaroni and Cheese | Serious Eats : Recipes

The pepper jack and cayenne pepper give it a nice little kick.

It's so delicious! ANNNNDD the best part is that it is easy to make

I might have to get 'a little' crazy this spring/summer. I am missing some of the stunts I used to pull when I was young and had to invent fun things to do in the woods.

>_>

My coworkers let me walk around for 5 hours tonight with MOCHA ON MY FACE. Thanks guys.

One watched me splatter it all over myself, and when I asked him if I'd gotten it all off of my face, he was like "oh yeah, except for that one spot by your eye... There, you got it!"

I hadn't gotten it.

Took Speckla's advice and headed to the shops Sunday - sat down with a coffee (no doughnut tho', lunch instead) made a list and set to. Not too bad, got all on the list. Emailed my sister and got her pressy lists so can shop onlne for her stuff (in the UK). Am feeling much better. Will take my cards to work tonight and get them done (she says, crossing her fingers).
Even managed a side trip to Ikea and got a desk and chair in readiness for DS2's computer.
Panic over. For now.
