I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Jeepy (which I missed by Y and iPhone wanted to correct to Kerouac WTF), that was the last bit of enabling I needed.

YEEEESSSS, more enabling!!!
Hmmm, I'm in an egg mood. Gonna cook myself something at work. Burmese egg curry, or Chinese stir-fried eggs and tomatoes. Both sound perfect right about now!

I'm loving being here with my nephews. I will post pics after CHristmas. The boys just made some cookies for Santa. Baby Gideon is just wonderful.... with his 5 days of life under his belt and working on his sixth. He is just the sweetest baby in the world. I could hold him forever.
I'm so in love with these little boys!

A nice slideshow of our town's very own Santa. He used to come into my office every year and give me a candy cane. I miss that.

This is why I went at 7am. Not that I have time to go at any other point in the day.

Sitting down for ten minutes.
CL, sorry you aren't feeling well. Saria, can I have some of those eggs, too? I don't care how they are prepared, just as long as they are already cooked! damsel, did you survive Walmart? curlysue....shortbread? That would taste good with eggs, right?
Okay, that's as far back as i can read just now.
What a week. DD1 is feeling better, and it's so good to have her home from the hospital. But now, today, we're in a cleaning marathon before the in-laws arrive. Even DH used the vacuum at some point. Then, my floor steamer decided not to work, and DH earned big points for fixing it. I was ready to send him to Target for a new one. (Wouldn't that have been fun?) Now I'm going to go put the chairs back under the kitchen table, and finish cleaning off the counter. The rest is just going to stay as it. My in-laws won't care. They know it's been a long week, but sheesh! I'm glad that's over.
Next: what the hell am I going to make for Christmas dinner? And Christmas eve? AGG
End rant. Thanks for letting me vent!

I do remember the dragon with a weak spot, but it has been so long (29 years) since I read the books that I can not remember much else. I just remember loving them, and other fantasy novels. That or non fiction/autobiographies about strong women were all I craved.
How cute is it that you played TLOTR. I played Goonies, Elf Quest, A-Team, Mash, and Stand By Me when at my friends house by the train tracks.

KK, make a big batch of some type of soup! All in one pot and everyone can help themselves, you need a break.
I nixed my Christmas Eve ham dinner in favor of homemade chicken noodle soup.
Glad your daughter is doing well and at home.

thank you! That actually sounds like a good idea. Trouble is, I've probably made soup three or four times, in my life, and that includes Stone Soup with my preschool classes, eons ago. Not sure how the inlaws would react to finding rocks in their soup (to be clear, we washed them in the dishwasher before using them at school.) Time to think!!!!

HOW is that done?
(not asking for the recipe, just a few words' description!)

You toss in a little turmeric into hot oil to dissolve, add eggs to pan, and fry on each side until golden and slightly blistered.
It's such a tasty, quick, and easy dish to make!
Have a look at how pretty the final dish is here:

Saria, it looks tasty! I've never had anything like it. One more thing I need to try. I wish DH would be willing to go to different restaurants to try new things. As my friend likes to say of her husband: he needs a food mistress. What would the male version of that be???

You and your friend should be your food mistresses!
I bought the boots. And I finally got Dan Lepard's Short & Sweet. Can't wait!

That would be my friend's husband Too bad we live on opposite sides of the country. Might have worked when I still lived in NJ. We even could have brought our spouses, who could have sat together with their boring old 'same old' food. Sigh!
