Say It. I Dare You.

I think I would be very on edge if everywhere I went had armed (as in with assault rifles) gunmen watching me and doing security. I wouldn't feel any safe at all, because then I would feel like I'm in danger everywhere I go since we feel that we need to have heavily armed security everywhere.

But do you, America. Keep on keepin' on.
It's not assault riffles (thank goodness) but... I do not even think twice about all the guns I see every time I go to work. I pay no attention until the b*tching starts. "Eff this effing belt and all isht on it! Gun in my effing rib, this vest is sent straight from effing hell! B**tard taser and GD evil tie!!"

That's when I laugh hysterically.

Though, let me add, the 2 times we have had a gunman in the building I was incredibly glad they were close by.

It's a messed up world. No doubt.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I'm so grateful for Sudafed and Mucinex today.

My husband can be so sweet when I'm sick. He can also be a poopy-head. It's like I can only be sick for a max of 24 hours before he loses his mind trying to keep up with all the stuff I normally do. Then he gets grumpy and mad at me, as if I can control the speed of my recovery. Sorry I wasn't spry as a spring lamb the less than 12 hours after having a 103.5 fever, dear.

I'm not talking about where you work, I'm talking about people wanting armed security, at grocery stores, the walmart, schools, churches, movies, chickfila, whataburger, etc etc.

Like doesn't that say a lot about our society and culture as a whole, that we see nothing wrong with that, that this is what we want to become? Can't leave the house for fear of getting shot.

Whatever. I'm working on my spaceship, cause I need to leave, there is no hope. Not that I ever had faith in mankind at all. good thing I'm not an earthling. they're just going downhill.

My cousin is 13 and said she wishes she didn't have all the responsibilities she had now, she misses being a kid, and wishes she never had to grow up.

OMG, we have the same husband!
I know that's what you are saying Murrrcat. I was just chatting, and I agree. I don't want to see guns everywhere either.

Gun control is a hot issue in the U.S. I wonder if you're hearing more about the NRA's position and less about the rest of us who are incredibly freaked out and horrified by the suggestion that more guns, not fewer, are needed to stem the tide of various maniacs' murderous rampages.

I own a gun, and I don't even want it anymore. Honestly ---- this is a polarizing subject for most of the country.

Keurig seriously needs to figure out how to make the cups that go in their machines recyclable. Although I love my new gift, I feel guilty every time I use one of their cups instead of my reusable one.

Oh, the problems I have, right? I just rolled my eyes at myself.

GC, I can't imagine having to wear that boot on top of how bad that must hurt. I'd be a total mess, probably a crying drama queen laying on the floor saying I can't possibly get up and walk with this big thing on my foot and oh, the pain! The pain!! Me? A big baby? What gave you that impression??

When I see y'all talk about being sick or injured and you've got kids and all this other stuff still going on (you know, life) I always wish I could come give you a hand to help out.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
No, thats just what I hear from everyone around me, but I'll just blame it on the south.
I personally pay no attention to the NRA, or their position. It's always too twisted.

It's deeply troubling.

At the very least, buying a gun ought to be more difficult.

Dangit. I don't remember the FEMBOT thread. It must have been during my hiatus.

The flu---

My kid has got it.....

I have viral-induced asthma and had to go to the E.R. week before last, for a (rare) nebulizer treatment, having caught a bug from her. If I catch this, I am doomed....DOOMED

According to the doc today, she's in the waning stages and has probably turned a corner now (towards recovery). She first became ill Saturday night/Sunday.

I'm in the process of applying for financial/indigent patient assistance with the hospital system I work for; and will probably qualify for it, so I will be hopefully be able to get my inhalers...but WHY can't calamity just hold off for a second, until the boat is on an even keel??? WHY???

Household rule #1 for both of us from here on out: Flu shots every flu season. We usually get them every year. There was just so much going on these past few months. *Deep, weighty, heavy-laden, 75-second SIGH*

/rant, just had to get it off my chest (and may MY chest remain clear and infection-free!!!) It's just that I'm just so terrified I'll get it; catching a cold lays me SO low with the ensuing asthma, and I've never even had the flu...
