Oh my word, the shiz is blowin' up on Facebook between some folks in Mr. Spring's family. It's like watching a Jerry Springer episode!

Every time I hear one of the chefs and countless other cooks say "fregola" it's like nails on a chalkboard. It's FRE-go-la, not fre-GO-la!!!

What about different kinds of blue eyes? I have more aqua-blue eyes with a strong darker blue ring around the outside of the iris and DH has blue eyes with a golden ring around the pupil. It's looking like the babe has eyes more like mine, but I do wonder if he'll get those golden flecks.

Under the mandate of reducing the size of the state, the IMF has encouraged the privatization of schools. Such a measure was undertaken in Haiti, and an IMF report predicts that the extreme deterioration in school quality and attendance will hamper the country's human capacity for many years to come. For example, only 8 percent of teachers in private schools (now 89 percent of all schools) have professional qualifications, compared to 47 percent in public schools. Secondary school enrollment dropped from 28 to 15 percent between 1985 and 1997. Nevertheless, the report ends with recommendations for Haiti to pursue further privatization initiatives. :
..and people wonder why I have a problem with the IMF.

Ok, I finally finished book 2 of the Bartimaeus trilogy (it took so long because that book seriously dragged and it was hard to get interested again when I put it down weeks ago). Anywho, Nathaniel is a sodding idiot who can't put two and two together even when it's smacking him right in the face. Really, after all that and you couldn't figure out who was pulling Duvall's strings?! I can't wait until this arrogant twit finally gets his comeuppance.

I wish we had hot water. I really want to take a shower right now, but I hate taking a cold shower at night. Ughhh.

I don't even run my dishwasher when I'm not home.

The lady eventually went home to check on them and guess what, they were dry. Duh. I just can't fathom leaving my stove top turned on unattended while away for 8+ hours.
I won't run the dishwasher, washer, dryer, or anything else when I'm not home. I don't even like using the crock pot during the day. I prefer to use it at night while I'm home. Hey if it's gonna catch the house on fire it darn well is gonna be while I'm in it. : )

I really like this guy, and he's a total catch, and has done things like invite me as his guest to his best friend's wedding...but...

He was left at the altar (literally! I didn't think that happened outside of movies!) less than two years ago.

He definitely has some issues from it. Understandably so.

My best guy friend said he's just not ready after hearing all the details...that it has nothing to do with me...that it all has to do with the fact that this guy got LEFT AT THE ALTAR by a woman he was with for eight years.

Ugh.

Now youíve got me wondering.

My parents both have/had blue eyes. My momís are a paler blue, my dadís were a very bright blue. We all got my dadís bright blue eyes.

Were the blue eyes on my dadís side more dominant? How does that work, I wonder?

Two brown eyed parents can have a blue eyed kid. That's pretty common.

Two blue eyed parents will rarely have a brown eyed child. It can happen, though.

My hair shouldn't be as curly as it is if I go by my parents. They're both less curly than I am.

A woman I used to work with, her house caught fire because she left the dryer going while she was out. Her brother worked for the fire dept. and called to let her know there was a call to her address. She lost every pair of jeans her family owned because they were all in there at the same time. Thankfully it didn't completely burn the house down, but the smoke and water damage was massive.

So yeah, that scared the isht out of me.

When we lived on base in SC I started the dishwasher right before we left the house. After getting out to the car I realized I forgot something and went back in and there was water all over the floor, can't imagine if I hadn't gone back in the damage it would have done to our apt and the folks downstairs.

Also, I found it a bit distracting that Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, both with blue eyes, had two brown-eyed sons in the movie. That's genetically impossible, right? Right??
My mother's parents had blue and green eyes. Their four children all have brown eyes.
