So far I hate today. I got a late start on account of the weather and shoveled myself a path to get out before jumping in the shower to get ready. I called to check in at work and told him when I'd be in and then got ready. Apparently everyone else at work showed up before I got there and my boss texts me five minutes before I left (I didn't check them) and proceeds to tell me to stay home because it was dead and everyone else is there. I know I should've gotten up sooner but I had to shower. I'm not going to finish shoveling because I'm showered and I am too pissed to go do anything and I did all my housework yesterday. I should've just stayed in bed.

dear twit!
just because you're too warm all the time means NOTHING!
my boss and i freeze to death in our corner of the office all the time - you can make ice in The Boss' office most days!
going to our on-site manager today and asking him to ignore the manager's email yesterday saying let the facilities management work out the heat issue is just plain DUMB!
even dumber was going to the facilities office and asking them to turn the heat down; because they've emailed The Boss about you and i can read his emails...
geez, lady, grow up! you're 3 years away from retirement.

I wish I could get a snow day. Instead, I have to commute on the highway in the stuff. Which means crawling, at 20mph at best, the whole 18 miles to work. Add in traffic lights, and my normally 25 minute commute takes over an hour.
This morning I worked out early, and then drove in after the majority of rush hour, and once the roads had been cleared somewhat. Still took me an extra 15 minutes. Sigh.

It can be a pain, but I enjoy it. lol. 2 years ago I had to drive into work, in large amounts of unscraped snow, many times. DOT could not keep up with it.
I was fine but I worried about the idiots flying past me doing 50. What? There is no point. Nobody needs to get killed because of your stupidity. Allow yourself extra time and slow it down.
I always know I am going to see that same car, wrecked, just a few miles up the road.

Really?? If that's the case, I'll at least feel better that my laundry isn't covered in crap. (Literally, we cloth diaper, so I was worried there was some horrible poo residue in the machine!!)

I always dread big snows now, for different reasons. I hate sending 4 wheelers to pick up elderly patients having medical problems. I know that has to scare them half to death. Rescue and EMS enjoy the ride, and they are in very good hands, but still... I can't help worrying about their reaction to the additional excitement/danger.
It would help if the departments had funding for closed cabin 6 wheelers.

I think I'm going to buy myself a really big gaudy bouquet for Valentine's Day this year. Possibly chocolates, too.
And of course, Frosty Paws.

Note to self: A busy Panera in a mostly suburban area is not a good place to encounter guys. Unless you're interested in a guy like 30 years older than you. In which case, have at it!

The windows at that furniture store are all finished. They weren't painted, just decorated with wintry things. Maybe they'll do it again Valentine's Day, yes? Yup, my life.

i'm SOOOOOOOOOO angry with my cousin right now!
she has decided that we can fly to Florida instead and can get me this great deal.
but she can't tell me if it includes all the taxes that Cdn airports charge or not or if it means flying out of Buffalo or Detroit (way cheaper)!
and i have to pay for it by Friday!!!!
well, i just booked $500 worth of work and Easter travel on my credit card after paying $300 for my gas pipe upgrade and i keep a low credit limit on the thing...
i don't get reimbursed for work travel until AFTER i get back, so it will be the middle of March before i see that money.
and she said to me,
"why don't you ask your sister for the money?"

I don't know how to deal with this.
I hope this all works out.

I took a trip to Target with DD2 and a combination of seeing her happy face with her purchases, finding some great sales, and a vanilla spice latte from Starbucks put me in a better mood.
Hope you are okay Springy!

Thank you B-wavy and CS! I really appreciate the well wishes. Lard, give me strength!
CS, I had a vanilla spice latte when I went to Target the other day and really liked it. I hate that there is a SB in Target.
