I want to live somewhere again where this is the case.

Yesterday morning Accuweather said it felt like -39 with the wind chill. The high for the day was -3. Minnesotans gave this news a collective shrug and went on with life as usual.

I have been cold continuously since Saturday. I'm getting tired of it.
Yikes! Sounds like torture to me.

But, a couple of weeks ago, one of my colleagues wondered if the principal would decide on indoor recess, due to the cold. Then she looked at me and said: the girl from NJ thinks I'm crazy! Well, yeah, it was about 50 degrees. Windy, but still, 50.

Genetic defect. My family has more than its fair share of diabetics and alcoholics. We have sugar issues.

Haha! True. But he's my friend's brother. It's too weird.

Also... He's an engineering student. My soul weeps.

LOL. I would KILL for 50 degrees, and I would be outside in it in a heartbeat. I looked at Sunday's forecast of 31 and thought "yay, it's going to be warm on Sunday". Lord help me.

Growing up in NJ, we had recess outside every day unless it was raining, or excessively snowy. Basically, they didn't want to deal with a bunch of wet kids after recess, but otherwise, we were out there.

I was an engineering student. So was my husband.

There are a LOT of weird ones out there though. And I'm pretty weird myself, so if I think they're weird, they're REALLY weird.

Same here, it was: get out of here! They get plenty of recess here. Thru third grade, they get 20 minutes in the am and pm, plus all of lunch is outside, even while eating. But my school has the autism program, which equal lots of aides in the classroom and on the playground, WE are the ones who don't want to be out in the weather, and believe me I'm a wuss, you'd never know I grew up in NJ...(until i open my mouth, then the accent makes it clear ) but I would never suggest we stay in for 50 degrees!

Being home sick (will this EVER end?) I'm watching too much tv.

The Today show just had the Kratt brothers of Zaboomafoo on. DD2 (now 14) and I used to watch them every day before preschool. I didn't know, they have a new show, but it brought me right back to that sweet time. I kept wanting to call out Zabooooooo! The two of them spoke to Hoda and Meridith exactly the same way they spoke on the show. I guess I thought their enthusiasm was an act.

We love them! I used to be a nanny when Zaboomafoo was on. It definitely took me a little while not to expect Zaboomafoo in their new show.

I loved Wishbone and anything with the Kratt brothers! I totally had a crush on them at some point.

As for Wishbone, that show was just awesome in general! Just about everything I know about literature/history/mythology/anything is thanks to Wishbone!
