Oy. I just ate a big bowl of chili... I may be regretting this decision at work later tonight!

Same sex marriage is now legal in England and Wales and people who were previously married in civil unions can now have it changed to a marriage. Hurrah!

The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill would enable same-sex couples to get married in both civil and religious ceremonies, where a religious institution had formally consented, in England and Wales.

It would also allow couples who had previously entered into civil partnerships to convert their relationship into a marriage.

My chemicals need to ship faster so I have something to do. So. Bored.

If I have to read another patent, I think my eyes are going to fall out of my head.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Why am I so out of the loop? So murrcat and thelio are the same person?? Just basing it on the posts about the sick throat.

Kids can't do anything in school anymore, can they? From what I hear most schools want no touching, etc. i would have suffocated in an environment like that. We rough housed non stop, and if kids actually did fight, teachers took bets on who would win. Seriously. They let you get it out of your system so you were friends again by the end of the day. It always worked.

This pondering inspired by another thread.

Springy - I'd love your recipe for biscuits.

I'm going to be a biscuit eating fool!

Mmmm..... bready breadiness! *inserthomersdroolingface*

Drop Biscuits
- makes 10-12 biscuits

2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon table salt
1 cup cold buttermilk
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly (about 5 minutes)*

*Melt butter in glass measuring cup large enough to hold buttermilk so you dont dirty two bowls.

1. Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 475F. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl.

2. Combine buttermilk and 8 tablespoons melted butter, stirring until butter forms small clumps. (make sure to get the clumps, you want this)

3.
Add buttermilk mixture to dry ingredients and stir with rubber spatula until just incorporated and batter pulls away from sides of bowl. Using greased 1/4-cup dry measure (or the spatula you stirred with and your finger), scoop level amount of batter and drop onto parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake until tops are golden brown and crisp, 12 to 14 minutes.

I also use this as a topping for chicken pot pie.

Mmmmm, drop biscuits I always loved it when my mamaw did not feel like making regular biscuits. She would do drop or tweak the recipe a bit and bake a solid pan and cut them into squares. When you had biscuits or cornbread with almost everything, it was a nice change.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Talking about baking them all in one pan and cutting them in squares takes me right to my mom's kitchen. *sigh* I wish I could go eat dinner there tonight.

With or without green peas?

I love green peas in my chicken n dumplings, but Mr. Spring loathes green peas.

I will eat it either way. I happen to love peas.

If I didn't have my sleeping nephew in my lap right now I would scream! I made arrangements with my dad to get my son from school today. I have no car so my mom and B usually work it out to get him to and from school but my mom is out of town. Almost an hour after school got out and still no kid home and my multiple texts went unanswered. Then Luke called from school saying "Mom who's picking me up?" Poor kid. So I had to call around to all my friends to find someone to get him. Luckily a family friend works right up the street and can get him. Ugh. I love my dad but frick he's flaky.
