Thank you everyone.
I am beside myself, so I'd better stop here, lest I start giving details which are not for the queasy (I'm not the queasy kind).
And, because I think one should always try to find gratitude (okay -- one should try to find gratitude if possible), I will add that I am very glad I did not run into any unsympathetic traffic cops as I drove from closed office to closed office, begging for help (apparently Weds. is their afternoon off, for some reason I sure can't justify, for pete's sake).

I'm so stressed about getting into college  I'm already in to my safety school, but I want to know where else I got in.
I'm also getting a bit worried about ever having to move to the east coast. it was 60 degrees today and that was too cold for me. needing a coat? snow??? what is that about?

I'm sorry that Polly is hurt, I hope she heals well and quickly, and do we have a picture of this furbaby so we can send her positive healing thoughts?
curlyeyes, you will be going to college no matter what! I just got back from 20 degree weather, if this NJ to CA transplant can deal with the east coast, you can too.
