You guys. My resume is kind of kick-butt, if you ask me. I know I was complaining the other night, but I let it rest for a day or two, and now it looks awesome. Just saying.

I woke up to remains of a few flurries, and nothing more. That makes me incredibly happy.

Awwwe, no, I'm so sorry. My mom put down my childhood dog when I was 25 (she was living with her in Florida) and I walked around bursting into tears for days. They are very special members of your family. I'm sorry you didn't have longer with Lili.

Thanks, ladies! I appreciate y'alls concern.

My poor Dad... he was holding her and dropped her flat on her back. A half hour later she started to have seizure (which she has had before) and it never really subsided. He is totally blaming himself even thought the vet said it was not his fault, just an unfortunate coincidence. I would feel the same way as he does and disbelieve the vet

I just put Brandi Glanville's book on my Kindle, as well as this Betty Broderick biography that was finally released as an e-book.

It's scorned women weekend over here!!!

Thank you re: avatar.

Polly had a good afternoon, capped off by some homemade "Spot's Stew" her Auntie made (I think it's gross, but since dogs aren't vegetarians, and she's been through so much, I'm letting everyone have treats for a few days). She met me at the door for the first time, and was very keen on hopping around the yard instead of just going out, doing her biz, and coming right back in.

Thanks so much for asking. I'm very proud of her efforts. She's a really good girl.

I can't go to Ulta anymore.

I just can't handle myself there. All that cute Benefit packaging and pea green eyeliner and "Salon Effects" nail stuff......then today I found hot pink powder, for your hair. I spend too much and then I come home and play with everything like I'm 13 again, and "OMG mascara really makes a difference!"

This must end. Maybe it was a stress response to all the dog trauma. I don't know. Probably I'm just weak.

Anyway......I'm breaking up with Ulta. Maybe we'll have coffee once in a while, you know. When my "They're Real!" mascara dries up (or it comes out in brown/black). But we can't go forward.

I'm sorry, Ulta. It's me, not you.

Aww Good. she deserves treats, and I am glad she is adjusting well and moving around.

I had a cat who lost a leg after a snake bite. He was back to his normal self in no time. Even better. They are amazing on 4 and 3 legs.

The vet said she'd adjust, but it's her personality which seems most altered. She's much more insecure than she was, and fearful of the other dogs. I know there's all that revolting "thinning out the pack" pyschology, but so help me, if anyone tries anything ugly, they're going to get it (which from me means a hell of a scolding, a time out, and NO PETTING or sleeping in bed, for days!).

I want to pamper her while she heals, but I want her to buck up, too. At the moment, I'm not even sure she'd try to steal butter off the counter, one of her all time favorite acts of mischief and gluttony.

Sorry to blather so much today, BUT:

I took my foster girl Mia-Mimi out with me, and we met all kinds of people, but not one of them was scared of pit bulls. I'm not sure whether to be glad (people are realizing that the negative mythology is inflated, at last), or frustrated (M-M makes such a good impression that I'd like her to be an ambassadoress for the breed, and open some minds).

Also, she loves climbing stairs. Who knew?

Got 12 hours sleep last night. There is something about my boyfriend's house (actually an old barn turned rickety cabin in the woods) that is like a giant sleeping pill. I woke up long enough to listen to some owls hooting and the 6 foot tall chimes gonging in the wind and then back into a coma.
Ahhhh.

New knife rack! My knives and I are happy! Awhile back I got rid of a bunch of knives and went from 3 knife magnets down to 1. But my remaining knives were crowded and then my sister got me a great knife for my birthday and I had no room for it. Oh that would not do!
So new magnet, room for all the knives and even room for some new ones. Happy dance!
Yes, that is a long boring knife story, but yay!!

Stealing butter That is adorable. Poor pooch. Hopefully she will get that attitude back. If not the same one, one that matches it but fits the new norm.
