Scrills, your poor nephew! The good news is that most appendectomies can be done laparoscoply so the recovery time is much better. Plus, he's young and little ones tend to heal quickly.

I'm curious - is the nerve block an injection? Like when we get novacaine for teeth?

Hope the surgery gets great results.

Right now I can feel the bottom of my thigh but not the top, and below the knee my leg is just dead.

I've started getting a little bit of temperature sensation and the occasional tingle.
cl, are you moving back to Oz? No wonder you're flying Ed!

Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
CL - we brought or furniture with us when we moved out here, figured it would be cheaper and we didn't want the hassle of having to go furniture shopping while we had so much else to do.
And when it was time for the dog to fly, he was picked up near the airport and driven the rest of the way in a van, we were beside ourselves but he had a quick look out of the window at us then sat up front with the driver! I'm sure Ed will be fine.
3b in South Australia.
I was not happy that my nephew (5) threw up all over my floor (and boots) because he was sitting at the table instead of on the bed with the trash can as directed. Seeing as how he may have appendicitis, I forgive him.

When they transferred him to the main campus of the hospital, he said "is this where Grandma died?"

Damn. This is hard

As nynaeve mentioned, it's a much easier procedure now. Surgery was Thursday night, she came home Saturday morning. By Monday, we could see she was feeling better. Within four weeks, she was cleared to go back to regular activity, including cross country/track practice. Let us know how he does, okay?

Scrills,I'd be happy to answer any question that I can.

DD is 17. I guess we got lucky in that it all happened the week before Christmas. Although she missed that full week of school, she then had two weeks off to recover before going back. She was in really good shape by the time school started up again. I bet since your nephew is even younger, he'll bounce back in no time. In the meantime, think of all the cartoons you'll get to watch with him!

I just want to let you know: There are healthy styles of domming and subbing. There are healthy ways to consent to sadomasochism. Kink can be very refreshing in someone's sex life. Just because it makes you uncomfortable or you've had a bad experience doesn't mean everyone will, and continuing your anti-kink crusade makes you look like a bad feminist.
LOL I can't. Makes you look like a bad feminist. Lawd.
Can school end please???

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Between being sick for the second time in three weeks, and the stupidity rampant at my work, I just want to go on a rampage and kill all the stupids.

Good thing the meeting with work people isn't until next week!

Thankfully Ed's quarantine will be 30 days rather than 6 months like it used to be.

So, I was doing a little window shopping online for bras. Of course it was only a matter of time before i ran across the ever popular bra sizing conversation. Someone described a 34" band as rather large. She said that most men she knew including big, tall men don't have a ribcage that big. Wha!? Well the hell is she living, Petiteville????
Hey, Petiteville!

I used to live there. Sometimes I still visit. I've never been to the bra section of town, though. I hear a lot of fights break out over sizing in those parts.

34 seems about average, no? I'm a 38 or 40, depending on the bra, and about a size 16/18 in shirts. So it seems that would be around a size 10, right? Not big at all!
